Our wedding festivities will take place on the north side of Lake Tahoe, between Olympic Valley and Tahoe City. We’ll be staying a bit closer to the lake in Tahoe City, which is also where both our welcome dinner and after-party will be held, while the ceremony and reception will take place at White Wolf Tahoe in Olympic Valley. We recommend finding accommodations in Tahoe City, Olympic Valley, or Truckee. All three are wonderful areas with plenty of hotels, lodges, and vacation rentals just a short drive from the venue. We are not doing a room block, but we have curated a list of preferred hotels in the area for our guests. You can find them under the Travel tab on our wedding website. Since Tahoe is a popular destination, especially on weekends, we recommend booking early.
We’re working on arranging transportation options on the day of the ceremony to make it easier for guests staying in different towns nearby. Details will be shared closer to the date. That said, we highly recommend renting a car if possible for the weekend. Lake Tahoe has so much to explore, and having your own wheels will give you flexibility to enjoy the area. While there are some public transportation options and ride-shares like Uber, they aren’t always reliable in Tahoe. A rental car will make your trip much smoother!
We’re calling it “Tahoe Garden Semi-Formal” The wedding is outdoors, so think wedding attire that’s stylish but mountain-friendly. Dresses, jumpsuits, dress shirts/coats, and slacks are perfect, but maybe leave your stilettos at home (there’s grass and dirt!). Bring a cozy layer too, as the mountain air cools down once the sun sets. Our wedding colors are inspired by Tahoe wildflowers and alpine gardens: greens, purples, yellows, and pinks. You don’t need to match these exactly, but if you’re looking for outfit inspiration, natural tones, florals, and garden-inspired hues will look especially beautiful against the mountain landscape.
The bears around Tahoe are very active (and surprisingly good at getting into cars). If they catch a scent, they’ll go for it, and it can cause a lot of damage. Friendly reminder not to leave anything scented in your car (food, trash, wrappers, sunscreen, coffee cups, etc.)
