It also helps that they now live one block away from each other in Prospect Lefferts. Not to mention that Sofia and Jeff have been acting like siblings since the first summer Maria and Jeff dated.

Jay is one of Jeff’s best friends! They met through shared classes at Emerson College, and continued to connect after college over video games and collectibles. Fun fact: while living together in Bed-Stuy at the height of the pandemic, Jay celebrated his first-ever Christmas with Maria, Jeff, and Jon.
Dondré Taylor-Stewart

Dondré is Maria’s longtime childhood best friend! After becoming (top) friends on MySpace in the seventh grade, they bonded over their mutual love of writing, spent all of high school and college going to indie rock concerts together, and are generally the definition of ride or die even while living on different coasts.
Jonathan Gutierrez

Jon is one of Jeff’s best friends! They met at Emerson College, where they co-hosted the award-winning WECB radio show Behind the Mic. Jon lived with Maria and Jeff for a few years in Bed-Stuy, where many good times were had. These days, Jon and Jeff can frequently be found together at Citi Field or the closest bar where you can play darts.

Emma is one of Maria’s best friends! Emma organized Maria into Emerson P.R.I.D.E., a student-worker solidarity group Emma co-founded, and they never looked back! Beyond organizing and planning actions together early on, they also bonded over everything from mental health to TV. Maria’s group chat with Emma and Nicki has been a vital part of surviving the pandemic!
Michael Gerlach

Mike is one of Jeff’s earliest friends, playing baseball together from elementary school until now, when they play on an adult slow-pitch softball team. They’ve been playing video games together nearly as long, and still to this day play a couple rounds of Fortnite every evening. Not to mention, Mike is by far Jeff’s favorite museum date.
Nicki Morris

Nicki is one of Maria’s best friends! They met after Maria joined Emerson P.R.I.D.E., the student-worker solidarity group that Nicki co-founded. Between meetings and sign-making parties, direct action and road trips to United Students Against Sweatshops conferences, they became close friends. Maria’s group chat with Emma and Nicki has been a vital part of surviving the pandemic!

Sean is quite literally Jeff’s first friend. They became friends so young, they needed permission to cross the cul-de-sac to play together. From playing baseball together to swimming in Jeff’s pool and countless hours of video games, Sean truly has been there for everything.
