HOW WE MET

Fiesta Hermosa brings everyone together...

After initially matching on Hinge and being deemed "most compatible", we had our first date at Fiesta Hermosa on Memorial Day weekend. We met in the beer garden and sparks flew at the Kona Big Wave tent. Jeff, unsure if this was a group meetup, showed up with two of his closest friends, Kevin and Charles of the wedding party. We spent the day enjoying the fiesta, sometimes alone and sometimes together with friends, listening to live music, wandering the vendor displays, and enjoying a beverage or two in the beer garden. Chemistry was instantaneous. This was not just evident to us. We ran into a few of Charles's friends, and after sometime conversing, they proceeded to ask us how long we had been dating. After a chuckle together, we replied this is our first date. However, we both seemed to know that this was so much more. And only one year later, we returned to Fiesta Hermosa, newly engaged.

WEDNESDAY DATE NIGHT TRADITION

Because what's better than a midweek dinner date?

As we continued dating, we noticed that Wednesday nights seemed to be our most consistent weekday for a date...thus Wednesday Date Night was born. Part of the tradition is getting dressed up, finding a nice restaurant to try, and making the all important reservation. We've become Yelp Allstars, Christina has even earned gold status on Opentable, tried (arguably) every restaurant in the South Bay, and even branched out to the surrounding LA area. However, Jeff makes every night feel like date night. Wednesdays have a special place in our hearts, so it was only fitting we have the ULTIMATE Wednesday date night here in Pisa for our wedding.

HOW JEFF PROPOSED TO CHRISTINA

aka the most wonderful and romantic proposal ever...

I could tell early on that Christina was the one for me. So I wanted a proposal to match how wonderful of a girl she is. We were planning a Europe trip together. This was to be Christina's first international vacation so I wanted this to be the perfect grand tour of Europe. So I thought of some of Europe's must see locations and we decided on Paris, Rome, Amalfi Coast, and Barcelona. Timing was perfect as this trip was right around our one year anniversary and would be our largest trip together as a couple. However, I still needed to figure out the perfect proposal... When we were visiting Christina's parents over the New Years holiday, the perfect plan came to mind. Christina's parents had a couple large portraits of her sister from a photoshoot that she had done in the Amalfi Coast on an Italy trip she had done. Her mom Linda noticed me admiring the pictures and told us that she needs some nice pictures of us to proudly display as well... And that was the moment that the perfect proposal plan came together. I quickly replied that this was a great idea. Then during our trip planning we set up a Paris photoshoot. Unbeknownst to Christina, I was coordinating with our photographer for this to turn into an engagement photoshoot. Because what better way to propose than under the Eiffel Tower at Place Trocadero, widely known as having the best view of the Eiffel Tower. So the plan was put in place. Fast forward to our trip, the photoshoot began bright and early on our third day in Paris. Christina looked beautiful in her bright red dress and I looked dapper in my blue blazer. A few photos in, we were instructed to hold each other and look toward the Eiffel Tower together. This was the cue for the proposal. From there, I got down on one knee and simply told Christina that I loved her so much, wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, and asked her 'will you marry me'. To which, she resoundingly responded 'yes'. So that is the story of our very magical proposal, a memory we will always cherish deeply forever. And after getting engaged in Paris, it seems only fitting that we are to be married overseas in Europe.
