We're getting married! (again...)

We met and got to know each other in Peace Corps, Myanmar over the 3 months we spent during training before being sent back to the US due to the pandemic. Little did we know that that traumatic time created a bond of friendship and love strong enough to withstand the strange life of the pandemic, and two more Peace Corps countries since. "You're getting married....again!?!?" you might ask. Well, our engagement happened 1 week before our departure to Colombia. The love for each other, our service in the Peace Corps, and our new home made it seem right for us to get married. We tied the knot on the full moon in September 2023 in Paipa, Boyacá, Colombia. However, this didn't mean that we didn't want to share this moment with all of our beloved friends and family back home. We are delighted to make our marriage in the US official with all of you by our side. We don't know what will come of this world... all we know is that we are excited to endure it together for the rest of our lives. - Nos conocimos en el Cuerpo de Paz de Myanmar durante los tres meses que pasamos en entrenamiento antes de que nos enviaran de vuelta a Estados Unidos debido a la pandemia. Poco nos imaginábamos que aquel traumático momento crearía un vínculo de amistad y amor tan fuerte que resistiría la extraña vida de la pandemia, y dos países más del Cuerpo de Paz desde entonces. «¿Ustedes van a casar de nuevo?», nos preguntarían. Bueno, nuestro compromiso ocurrió 1 semana antes de nuestra partida a Colombia. El amor del otro, nuestro servicio en el Cuerpo de Paz y nuestro nuevo hogar hicieron que nos pareciera correcto casarnos. Nos casamos en la luna llena de septiembre de 2023 en Paipa, Boyacá, Colombia. Sin embargo, esto no significaba que no quisiéramos compartir este momento con todos nuestros queridos amigos y familiares en EEUU. Estamos encantados de oficializar nuestro matrimonio en Estados Unidos con todos ustedes a nuestro lado. No sabemos lo que vendrá de este mundo... todo lo que sabemos es que estamos emocionados de soportarlo juntos por el resto de nuestras vidas.
