Mercado 28
Mercado 28 is huge street market in downtown Cancun with over 600 vendors selling everything from handcrafted textiles to unique leather items. It's a perfect spot to find authentic Mexican souvenirs and test your bargaining skills. Enjoy local cuisine at a fraction of Hotel Zone prices at one of the market's restaurants. Parque de las Palapas
Located about six miles (10 kilometers) from the Hotel Zone, past the end of Boulevard Kukulcán on Calle 5, Parque Las Palapas is a small plaza that blurs the lines between a local and tourist hotspot. You can reach the park by public transportation; take the R1 bus towards downtown and get off at El Palacio. Alternatively, you can visit on a tour that takes care of transportation for you. Fans of street food will appreciate the assortment of vendors lining the park, offering delicious Mexican dishes.
