Flying in and Trains

The closest major airports to Verona are Venice (Marco Polo) and Milan (Malpensa). Venice is roughly an 1.5 hour train ride away, and Milan is anywhere from 1 hour 15 - 2 hours by train. The two main rail companies in Italy are TrenItalia and Italo, and we recommend booking with one of them. You can book trains 90-120 days before your trip :) We'll have some more suggestions for getting to Italy and Verona as soon as possible, so please keep an eye on the website!

Accomodation Suggestions

We have put together a list of accommodation options, all en route to VerdeOlivo for ease of carpooling and pick up. We are aiming to have a shuttle on the wedding day to pick up/drop off our guests. There is no need to book with any of these, but they are here to hopefully make your planning easier! If you find something you would like us to share with everyone else, please let us know :)

Car Rental Suggestions

Note that you are required to have an international driver's license (IDL) to rent a car! If you are choosing to rent a car, please make sure you have your Canadian driver's license, your IDL, your passport, and a credit card (beat that Italian bureaucracy!). All four of the companies below have automatic cars, but they're limited, so I would suggest booking in advance if you can :) . They are also all available at the Venice airport, Milan airport, and in Verona. Hertz: estimated daily rate €45-65 (manual), €60–85 (automatic). Europcar: €45–65 (manual), €60–85 (automatic). Budget (by Avis): €35–55 (manual), €55–75 (automatic). Sicily by Car: €30–50 (manual), €50–70 (automatic). Note: sometimes mixed reviews on vehicle condition.
