Maid of Honor
Shelby met her maid of honor, Sara Matsumura, when she burst from her mother's womb in 1998. Sara is hilarious, kind and has a giant laugh that lights up every room. Although Sara is three years younger than Shelby, Sara is accomplished beyond her years. Sara has a Master's degree in Marine Sciences. She is an All-American volleyball player. And most importantly, Sara is Shelby's idol. Shelby is truly honored and blessed to have such an incredible sister and maid of honor by her side.
Maxim Nebeker
Best Man
Jayden met Max during the spring semester of their first year at the University of Utah in 2015. Max had a double room to himself after his original roommate never showed up, but then Jayden transferred in. Max wasn’t thrilled at first, but they ended up getting along great. The photo is from their double dorm room, where they somehow squeezed in a pool table with barely enough space to play. It led to plenty of trick shots.
Jacqueline (Jacque) Park

Shelby also met Jacqueline when she was just a sweet little baby. Shelby, Sara, Jacqueline, and Jojo are all first cousins, but grew up like four sisters. Jacqueline is sweet, fun-loving, and smart as hell. No one's quite sure how/from whom she received the smart gene from... but thank god she did. She is currently finishing her final year at the University of Utah, majoring in Computer Science. Sometimes, Shelby and Jacque butt heads (older sister problems) but Jacque usually wins because of that big giant brain! Gosh darn her big giant brain!!!
Bronson Plumb

Bronson is Jayden’s younger brother, so they’ve known each other forever. They spent most of their childhood together and now have many of the same mannerisms and phrases. They don't look alike though, despite what anyone says. They lived together for a year during college and have a running annual Christmas arm wrestle, of which Jayden is the reigning champ. The photo is from a time Bronson traveled to Chicago to visit Jayden, taken in front of the infamous Bean.
Jocelyn (Jojo) Park

Jojo is the youngest of the fearsome foursome. Jojo has been sassy since the day she was born. When she first met Jayden, she kept calling him Holden. The girl was 9 years old and already pulling power moves. Although Jojo is fiery, she is incredibly caring and hopes to dedicate her future career to special education or occupational therapy. It's the craziest thing. She volunteered in Vietnam teaching children and helping people with special needs but then throws up a gang sign in a photo. We love our versatile Jojo!
Ryan Rose

Jayden first met Ryan in fifth grade after his dad moved to Bluffdale. Ryan and Jayden were neighbors throughout middle school and most of high school. After graduating in 2014, they spent a month traveling through Europe together. This photo is from that trip, when we were in Salzburg, Austria. Probably should have put a picture of him from the Running of the Bulls but this one is cute.
Breanna Johnson

Breanna and Shelby became friends in 6th grade. They bonded over their love for musical theater, the Jonas Brothers, and looking wayyy too extra for no reason. Breanna is motivated, fiercely loyal, and Shelby's favorite party animal. Breanna would do anything for her friends. Shelby was one of Breanna's maids of honor at her wedding last year and we're hoping Breanna will be in attendance at Shelby's wedding. But she is quite pregnant and is due September 10! Either way, Shelby couldn't get married without Breanna as a bridesmaid.
Mason Shelley

Jayden and Mason have been friends for a long time. They really connected in tenth grade during a drawing class and have stayed close ever since. The photo is from a spontaneous trip to Savers, where Mason chased Jayden around with plastic lightsabers because we were really fucking cool.
Abeni Czajkowski

Shelby and Abeni became friends in 6th grade. Due to there being very few Asians in Utah, everyone always confused Shelby and Abeni for each other... which was not cool so don't read this and think you can do it at the wedding because we'll kick your butt! Abeni and Shelby bonded over this "otherness" and try to be a safe place for each other. Abeni is incredibly creative, hard working, and goofy as hell. You'll find her either pulling her eyelids down out of anxiety or holding her tummy because she ate dairy.
Mark Klekas

Jayden met Mark through Shelby’s high school friend Abeni, but they really became friends during a trip to Costa Rica in 2022. Since then, they’ve shared a lot of laughs and good times. The photo shows Mark auditioning to be the next 007 at Breanna’s wedding in July 2024.
Kiersten Cutler

Kiersten and Shelby became friends in 7th grade. They were some of the smartest girls in your class and together, UNSTOPPABLE! They'd often partner up for team quizzes, 2v2 basketball, and studied for every test with each other all the way through high school. Kiersten is the nicest person you'll ever meet, but beware of her competitive side. She may wish you luck with her beautiful smile and bright blue eyes, but will then wipe the floor with your loser ass.
Kyle Gregerson

Kyle and Jayden first met in middle school, but became closer in high school and have hung out regularly over the years, with a lot of that time spent rock climbing. Kyle is a funny guy with an impeccable Katniss Everdeen impression. The photo was taken on a hike during a weekend trip to a friend’s cabin.
Alexa Sime

Shelby and Alexa became friends in 2021. They met at a bachelorette party when they were both hiding from the stripper. Alexa is considerate, emotionally intelligent, and the loudest introvert you'll ever meet. Get to know her now, because she'll likely become the next winner of the reality show Survivor... she just needs to apply first.
Eli Cardiel

Jayden met Eli through Alexa and eventually through a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Jayden DMed and Eli played a Monk made of metal. Eli is a certified meat lord and knows how to have a good time. The photo is from Eli and Alexa’s beautiful wedding in June 2024.
Rhianna Soares

Rhi and Shelby became friends in law school. Both attorneys, both at tech companies in Silicon Valley, both Team Edward (big Twilight fans here). Rhi is a straight shooter. She can be quite tactful with her words but wears exactly how she feels on her face. Rhi is constantly feeding Shelby's food and wine addiction. You must get her recipe for bell peppers!
Samuel Jenson

Jayden met Sam through Max, since they were friends from high school. It’s hard to remember the exact moment, but it was likely during one of Sam’s visits back to Utah in 2015. Sam is similarly a tall lanky boy so its pretty obvious Max has a type. The photo is from a camping trip Jayden took with Sam and Max in Los Padres National Forest.
Jenai Howard-Afnan

Shelby and Jenai became friends in law school. They were randomly sat next to each other in Criminal Law and thus began far too many nights where they drank red wine and watched movies instead of doing homework. Jenai is an excellent singer and wishes to travel to Rome, get confused for Italian pop sensation Isabella Parigi, and be forced to sing in front of a giant crowd! Let's help make this dream come true at the wedding.
