Flight
If you are travelling to our wedding by flight, there are a few options for airports in the surrounding area. CHO is the closest option - approximately a 20-minute drive to downtown Charlottesville, and 30-minute drive to Keswick where the wedding will be held. CHO is also the smallest airport, so we have provided a couple other options that would be available for direct flights.
Travel Note
The Charlottesville-Albemarle airport registers 11 different taxi companies that can be contacted using the provided link. They also have ride share options including Lyft and Uber. If you prefer to drive, rental car companies like Avis, Hertz, and Budget are located near the baggage claim area. If you need other accommodations, please contact Jay or Geneva!
Flight
The airport in Richmond provides more nonstop flight options for various departure locations. It is further from the wedding/hotel locations - approximately 1.5 hours from downtown Charlottesville and 1.25 hours from Keswick.
Travel Note
If you are flying into the Richmond International Airport, there are a couple of travel options to the Charlottesville area. You can use a ride share such as Lyft or Uber for roughly $90-$140 to the Downtown Mall. The airport also has several rental car companies including Enterprise, Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National if you prefer to drive. If you need other accommodations, please contact Jay or Geneva!
Flight
Dulles has the most flight options but is approximately a 2-hour drive time from both downtown Charlottesville and Keswick. Flying into this location, you could get to Charlottesville via rental car or take the metro to Union Station and arrive via Amtrak.
Train
If you are arriving via Dulles International Airport, you have the option to take public transportation into Charlottesville. The total travel time takes approximately 3-4 hours. After arriving in Dulles, take the silver line to Metro Center where you will transfer to the red line. Take the red line to Union Station where you can catch an Amtrak to the Charlottesville station (CVS). The Amtrak runs about 3-4 times daily.
Flight
The Ronald Reagan Airport is another option if you fly into the DC area; similarly to IAD, it approximately a 2.5-hour drive time from both downtown Charlottesville and Keswick. Flying into this location, you could get to Charlottesville via rental car or take the metro to Union Station and arrive via Amtrak.
Train
If you are arriving via Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, you have the option to take public transportation into Charlottesville. The total travel time takes approximately 3 hours. After arriving at the airport, take the yellow line to the Gallery Pl-Chinatown stop where you will transfer to the red line. Take the red line to Union Station where you can catch an Amtrak to the Charlottesville station (CVS). The Amtrak runs about 3-4 times daily.
