FAQs

We know that traveling to Palm Springs to help us celebrate our magical day is a big ask! Here's some more info to hopefully make planning the journey less stressful.
Question

What does “desert chic” mean?

Answer

"Desert Chic" is our way of saying that the wedding will be cocktail attire (think light color suits, bright colorful jumpsuits, prints and florals) but we want you to feel amazing so you do you. Dress to impress! Keep in mind, it can be warm in the desert during the day and quite chilly at night, so definitely plan on bringing a warmer layer for the evening. *A note about footwear* Your dancing shoes may get a little dusty and sandy during the ceremony - and some of the landscape isn't ideal for skinny heels - but don't let that stop you from doing you!

Question

When should I arrive in Palm Springs?

Answer

The wedding will take place late afternoon on Saturday. Flying or driving in on Thursday or Friday is recommended so you can get settled. You are welcome to join us for a welcome drink on Friday evening if you do!

Question

What’s the most economical way to stay?

Answer

Unless you find a great deal with a big group in an Airbnb, our room blocks at the Saguaro hotel will be the most economical option and will put you right in the action!

Question

Should I drive myself to the wedding ceremony?

Answer

Please don’t. You absolutely are welcome to, there’s plenty of free parking, but there’s truly no need. The party will end around 9:45 and you’ll be on your way back to town by 10pm. Unless you need to call it a night earlier than that, we don’t recommend driving- the roads are quite dark and winding!

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Honestly? Not really. Uber’s are pretty cheap and can get you anywhere you need to go. If you’re staying at The Saguaro, all our wedding-related events are nearby enough for you to walk or rent bikes from the hotel, and we have shuttles taking you to and from the main event. Unless you want to do some solo exploring, renting your own car really isn’t necessary.

Question

What will the weather be like in October?

Answer

Palm Springs is a desert so it should be nice and warm during the day, typically around 80-90°F. It cools off a lot at night, ranging around 60° (but can feel cooler in the dry desert air). Joshua Tree tends to run around 10° cooler than Palm Springs on average, so if you’re planning to stay out there at any point, keep that in mind! That’s why we recommend bringing and extra layer (or two) on the wedding night!

Question

What should I Pack!?

Answer

Here are the essentials we recommend putting on your packing list: -Wedding outfit + warm layer that doesn't ruin your look -Bathing suit (there will be plenty of pool time!) -Shorts/clothes for warm weather -Sweater or jacket for cooler weather -Casual clothes -Sandals -Sunscreen

Question

Can I bring my baby to the Ceremony?

Answer

As much as we love babies (especially yours), we don't recommend bringing little babies to the ceremony site, unfortunately. It's about a 45-minute drive from the hotels and we will all be taking shuttles, which will likely make it difficult to tend to your kiddo’s needs. However, there are plenty of amazing sitting services in the area! We recommend Desert Super Sitters: https://desertsupersitters.com AND, your baby is definitely welcome at all other events over weekend and we would love to see them :) Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
