We would love to meet as many of you at the airport. Please provide us with flight info if you would like us to arrange tranportation from the airport to the Hyatt. The airport code for Guadalajara is GDL. We can't wait to see you!
Travel Note
We will do our best to arrange pick ups from the airport with help from friends and family in GDL. If you come on Friday, we will be in Tequila all day and may not be able to pick you up. You can arrange pick up with the Hyatt for about $80 (1600MX) for 4 people or $125 (2500MX) for a 6 person car. We will try to coordinate you with other guests arriving at similar times so you can split the cost of transportation. Uber is fine, but we recommend going in groups, use drivers with a high rating, having the driver verify their name and who they are picking up before you accept the ride. I used this when I went in September. We will likely hire a family friend for Thurs/Fri to act as a trusted "Uber" we just ask you tip accordingly. On the way back, we recommend reserving a car from the Hyatt. My parents and I used this and it was GREAT! We asked the concierge the night before and they were there bright and early to take us to the airport. This is only $45 (4 people) or $70 (6 people).
Hotel
We have a room block here for all out of town guests. There will be a shuttle to and from the wedding/reception so we highly recommend booking here if possible! They have rooms with 1 King bed or 2 Queen beds and there are cots available. We are happy to help you book if needed. Also, AAA members get a 15% discount! IMPORTANT: We need to fill the rooms in our block so it would be greatly appreciated if you would book using our code. Travel Note
Many have asked about Guadalajara and safety. We recommend treating Guadalajara as you would any major city, as in you need to be more aware of your surroundings and keeping track of things like your purse, wallet, cell phones etc. Just to be on the safe side, we do not recommend you bring your favorite or most valuable jewelry or watches. In general, it is always recommended you avoid carrying a lot of cash or valuables with you when traveling. As a rule of thumb, we stick together when traveling and avoid going places alone. We do not recommend cabs and will be providing transportation throughout the weekend. We have never experienced any issues while living in Mexico but advise you to exercise common sense when traveling to a big city. We will be providing transportation to and from wedding events. If you have any questions about traveling to Guadalajara- please ask!!
Travel Note
We recommend you download the app WhatsApp which allows you to call, text, and send voice messages for free when connected to wifi. This is the easiest way to check on things at home and contact us while in Mexico. Many phone companies include cell service between the US and Mexico for no extra charge or you can always set up temporary international calling plans with your carrier.
