Question

Where is the ceremony?

Answer

Our ceremony will take place at Palauea Beach in Maui. Please check the Schedule section of our website for exact location details and parking guidance.

Question

What time should I arrive to the wedding?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at the beach no later than 8:30 AM. The ceremony will begin shortly after, and beach access can take a few extra minutes — so we recommend arriving early.

Question

Is there a place where I can change my clothes for the wedding?

Answer

Not really. There is a public restroom at the meet up place at Kam 3, but it is just that--a public restroom. We recommend that you dress at your hotel and arrive ready for the ceremony.

Question

8:30 seems awfully early. Can we get a later time?

Answer

8:30 is the meet up time. The ceremony will begin somewhere between 8:45 and 9:00. Any later than that and we find that it just gets too bright and hot on the beach. Everyone is sweating and wilted. It is worth the extra effort to get an early start at the beach for the ideal lighting and perfectly beautiful water in the background.

Question

What about seating? Our parents are elderly and can't stand for long.

Answer

Chairs are not permitted on any beaches for any events, but there is an exception for the elderly and/or handicapped. We can provide up to 4 chairs for elderly parents or anyone who can't stand for very long.

Question

Where should I stay on Maui?

Answer

We recommend staying on the South Side (Kihei, Wailea, Makena). An affordable option is using AirBNB to search “Sugar Beach” in Kihei. Maui Coast hotel is also another great option. If you are looking for more of a resort vibe there is the Andaz and Fairmount, and also the higher end resorts such as the Grand Wailea & The Four Seasons.

Question

What should I wear to the ceremony?

Answer

Beach formal / island elegant , Hawaiian clothes, or whatever you'd be comfortable in🌺 Think: Lightweight fabrics (linen, cotton, flowy dresses) Sand-friendly shoes (sandals, wedges, or barefoot!) Sunglasses encouraged Avoid stilettos — they sink into the sand. For the wedding reception, feel free to dress more upscale if you'd like.

Question

Will we be standing in sand?

Answer

Yes the ceremony will be directly on the beach. Plan footwear accordingly.

Question

Is there parking at the beach ceremony?

Answer

es, there is nearby beach parking. More specific details are listed in the Schedule section of the website. We recommend carpooling when possible.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

While we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only ceremony. They are welcomed at the wedding reception dinner.

Question

We want to hang with you! How long will the bride and groom be in Maui?

Answer

We will arrive August 16th and will leave the morning after our wedding, August 21st. We have a beach welcome party on August 19th, and the information is in the schedule. One of the days we have to meet with the Maui DMV to get our wedding certificate and such. Outside of that you are welcomed to tag along with us!

Question

Is eating out in Maui expensive?

Answer

Yes! It is very expensive. If you eat our for all 3 meals, expect to spend almost $150 per person! We highly recommend staying at a hotel or air bnb that has a kitchen so you can cook you breakfast and/or lunch to save money. There is a Costco on Maui and grocery stores. You'll thank us if you follow this advice.
