The year was 2009 and we both were students at the best HBCU on this side of Heaven, Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, TX. Brodrick spotted me on campus in the mirror room practicing a praise dance for a school event. He asked me if I had a boyfriend, at the time I did, so I said yes! He always figured, all high school relationships fade once you get to college, so he figured he would try again. However, at the time I was just not interested. Overtime, Brodrick and I became friends and remained good friends over the years. We would see each other on campus stop, talk, and share a laugh. And although we were just friends, he never let me forget that he liked me. So we accepted that a friendship was as far as we would take it. We now often laugh and joke about so many memories we made together in college from Brodrick being drunk in the back seat after his fraternity's party, to going on road trips to other colleges with no place to sleep. The weird thing about it all is, even though we were just friends, throughout the friendship we declared, "End of Time by Justin Timberlake and Beyonce" was "our" song. After college we reconnected in 2016 and realized that we lived close to each other and one day he asked if he could come and see me. Brodrick came over and we talked and he was the ultimate gentleman like he always was. In fact, one of the first few visits would be the moment we shared our first kiss. After that first visit, came many more, until we basically spent all of our free time together. One day we were on the phone and Brodrick asked me to be his girlfriend on July 26, 2016 and of course I said yes. Fast forward to January 2017 Brodrick and I decided to move in together and it has been an amazing journey ever since. On Sunday, December 2, 2018, Brodrick had scheduled a holiday shoot for us, hired a videographer and assembled about 30 of our closest family and friends and asked me to be his FOREVER.
