Things To Do

Islay is an amazing place with lots of beautiful beaches and hidden gems, there are lots of things to do but we have listed a few of our favourites here.
• The island is famous for its whisky, so you could visit one of the 10 distilleries. Andy’s favourite is Bunnahabhain!
• Visit the stunning beaches. Our favourites include Saligo Bay, Singing Sands, and Portnahaven Lighthouse.
• Take a trip to Lucci's Whisky Bar, the best place in Bowmore!
• Fancy some golf? Play a round at the world famous Machrie.
• Take a trip up to the American Monument for incredible views and a bit of history.
• Hop on the ferry over to Jura, the neighboring Island for dramatic scenery, a lot of deer and a chance to experience one of Scotland’s wildest islands.
• Head out on a sea trip with Islay Sea Adventures to try and spot local wildlife or explore the island’s spectacular coastline.
• Visit the historic ruins of Finlaggan which was once the seat of the Lords of the Isles.
