Accommodation can be booked any time from now. We recommend securing somewhere to stay as soon as possible, ideally at least a year in advance, as places on the island fill up quickly. Ferry bookings are usually released in December 2026 for summer travel, so we suggest booking those as soon as they become available.
The day will be split into two parts. The ceremony will be on a beach somewhere on the island (we are still deciding!). The wedding breakfast and evening party will be held at the Gaelic Centre in Bowmore.
We are currently working with local companies to arrange transport from the evening venue back to accommodation around the island, so hopefully no one needs to be the designated driver. We will confirm this in your final RSVP.
The party will be in Bowmore, which is the central hub of Islay. Other good places to look for accommodation include Port Ellen, Port Charlotte and Bridgend, as these are not too far away. Portnahaven also has places to stay but is quite a drive from Bowmore.
This is still being confirmed with our venue and registrar, we’ll update you in the final RSVP.
This isn’t a conventional wedding, so leave your stilettos and formal dress shoes at home for the ceremony. Think walking boots or wellies!
Unfortunately, if they haven’t been named on your RSVP, they aren’t invited. This is due to limited numbers and space.
As it’s summer, we’re hoping for sunshine and slightly more predictable weather, but who knows on Islay! Please come prepared for all seasons.
This will be included with the final RSVP when we have finalised the menu with our caterers.
Yes, but not just yet! Details will be shared in the final RSVP.
