In college Alyssa and Andrew were set up on a blind date that both of them actively tried to get out of going on. They eventually both agreed to go and ended up having a great time getting to know each other. They even shared their first kiss while dancing to the song Drops of Jupiter by Train (which you may hear at their wedding). The next weekend Alyssa went with Andrew to his fraternity's formal in New Orleans. A few weeks later they began dating and now after 7 years of dating, long distance, internships, nursing school, and many other life events they will be getting married.

Alyssa and Andrew were in Auburn, AL for her graduation from the BSN program. They went golfing that morning at Andrew's favorite course, as they did often throughout their college years, and had dinner at their favorite restaurant The Hound. Midway through dinner, Andrew got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. As she was processing what was happening, Alyssa's family entered the restaurant which was a surprise to her because he arranged for them to come in a day early to help celebrate. This was so surprising, in fact, that Alyssa stood in silence for a minute before finally remembering how to form words and say "yes". (If you have seen the pictures, you will be able to tell how surprised she was). There was never any doubt, just pure shock. They happily ended the night with celebratory drinks at the Auburn Hotel. The next day, after her graduation, they returned to the AirBnb for what she thought was a post graduation celebration, but to her surprise her best friends, family friends, and family members came from out of town for an engagement celebration as well. Needless to say, Andrew completely went above and beyond to plan this proposal and now they can't wait to celebrate with all of their family and friends soon!
