Scenario #1: I want to fly to Italy early and explore before the wedding

Fly direct to Rome (FCO) and stay in Rome for a few nights to explore the Eternal City. Rome is also a great home base for day trips by train around the surrounding areas. To get to the wedding venue, rent a car and drive 2.5 hours north - we have found driving in Italy to be pretty straight forward! Alternatively, if you want a shorter distance to drive, take a direct train from Rome to Florence (1.5 hours). Once in Florence, rent a car and drive just 1.5 hours to the wedding venue (we PROMISE this drive is easy - we have done it!)

Scenario #2: I want to go straight to the wedding and extend my trip afterwards

Book a red-eye flight to Florence (FLR) that departs May 27 and arrives in the first half of the day on May 28. From the Florence airport, rent a car and stop for a delicious lunch. Drive 1.5 hours from Florence to the venue and check-in at 3pm on May 28th. Yes... you will be very tired after a long night and day of traveling. Push through the jet lag by enjoying a welcome dinner and then going to sleep early (there will be no major events planned this night since we know everyone will be tired!) After checking out on June 1st, Italy is now your oyster. Drive to Siena, back to Florence, or explore Tuscany wine country.

Scenario #3: I really do not want to rent a car or drive in Italy

We get it, driving internationally can be scary. If you do not want to rent a car for the trip just let us know! We will do our best to link you up with someone else you know who is attending and renting a car, or who has similar travel plans. There are train stations in both nearby Siena (30min drive) and Bucine (20min drive) that have direct trains from Florence frequently throughout the day. An easy taxi ride from either of these train stations will get you to the venue.

Taxi Information and Contacts

Taxi rides are available from Florence, Siena, or Bucine to Casa Cornacchi if you are not renting a car. The fee for one taxi transfer runs around 100 euro but is for an 8 passenger Mercedes van, so if you group together then it will be much more affordable per person! Taxi rides need to be reserved ahead of time by contacting one of the drivers listed below (they are not available on demand / instantaneously like an Uber). Train

Travel by Train

A train can take you just about anywhere in Italy! The closest train stations are Siena and Bucine. Keep in mind that train strikes in Italy are not uncommon so if you plan to use the train, look out for strike notices as your trip gets close.
