*For our out-of-town friends and family coming from the New England area, we highly recommend taking the ferry from Bridgeport, Connecticut to Port Jefferson, New York to break up the traffic, and you can bring your car along with you!* The ferry brings you directly into Port Jefferson, just steps from Danford's, our top recommendation for a stay. It's the perfect combination of scenic views and convenience! Oh, and did we mention there’s a bar on the ferry? It’s a great way to kick off your trip!

Cross Sound Ferry
Another option is to take the ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point, NY. This location may be more convenient for folks, but it won't bring you directly to your destination. Orient Point is at the very end of Long Island and about 1.5 hours away from the hotel or wedding venue, but hopefully you'll be driving against the traffic! You can also enjoy all that the East End of Long Island has to offer along the way, including the beautiful water, views, and vineyards.

Amtrak
For a smooth and scenic journey to St. James or Port Jefferson, consider taking Amtrak! Take it to NYP (Moynihan Train Hall - Penn Station, New York). Friends and family traveling from New Jersey, Boston, or Philadelphia - this option may be for you! Once you arrive at Penn Station, you can easily transfer to the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to reach your destination. Some options for local stops might include St. James or Port Jefferson. While it might make for a longer travel day, the peaceful ride offers a stress-free alternative to driving, leaving you refreshed and ready for the celebration!

John F. Kennedy International Airport
If you're flying in, you have plenty of options for airports! If you're flying into JFK airport specifically, you can take the AirTrain directly to Jamaica Station to access the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). From there, you can take the LIRR to St. James or Port Jefferson.
