-You will need a PASSPORT! Have your passport, negative covid pcr test, and Covid vaccine card ready! -BGI is the airport you will fly into. If you fly from a bigger city it is typically cheaper. This is an expensive flight, so if you intend on going, please do not wait until the last minute to book. Kayak has a nice price checker that tells you when to buy and when to wait for the price to drop! ***Something for you to consider: American Airlines is almost ALWAYS having a deal on their credit cards. If you get their card, you automatically get 60,000 miles!! Right now there are two separate cards offering miles, the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Mastercard and the Barclays Aviator Red Mastercard***

Beach View
We were told that you would need to call and make the reservation over the phone and state that you are with "the Brittany Trapani and Jarad Key wedding party" and they should give you the group rate. The stated group rate was 180$ per night. Sidenote about this hotel: There is not much of a beach across the street. Which is how this place is such a steal. It is very clean and nice, just not on the beach. This hotel IS on the West coast of the island and just a short distance to the wedding venue. All beaches are open to the public. On the "things to do" section, there is a list of beach spots to hang out at for the day! Beach View allows full refunds if cancelled more than 14 days before your stay.

Colony Club Beach
This is a Marriott hotel on the west coast, just about a mile down the road from the Lone star. This is a nice hotel on a nice area of beach! It's worth it to stay here! We just do not have a "group rate" for this place. This is simply due to the fact that we found cheaper rates on Expedia than the rates they quoted us. Due to covid, they are allowing cancellations up to 4 days prior to arrival.

VRBO, barbados
This is how Jarad and I normally travel. We book vacation rentals through VRBO. We have never had an issue using vrbo. If there is a large group of you that is willing to all stay in the same house together, this is the way to go. There are a lot of options with some beautiful beaches on the west coast. We highly recommend that you stay on the West Coast. The South and East coast starts to get covered with sea weed during this time of the year.

Transportation UPDATED
We are still trying to figure out the logistics. We will update this website as we figure things out. FOR WEDDING DAY: We will have a bus picking people up at the Beach view hotel at 4PM for transportation to the wedding. This same transportation will pick everyone up from the Lonestar and take you back to the Beach View. *** IF you are staying at the Coral Reef Club or the Marriotts Colony Club, just take a taxi, these hotels are located just a mile down the road from the Lone Star. Options: Renting a car: This is the easiest and gives you more freedom to explore the island. We usually rent a car. Keep in mind, this is a British territory so they drive on the opposite side of the road. If you are staying at a VRBO, this is probably your best option. Taxi's: You can ask the place you are staying at to get you a taxi . There are no Uber's or Lyft's, and they do not accept venmo, so bring cash!

Things to Know
- The Barbados dollar (BBD) is the main currency, however, the USD is accepted everywhere on the island. 1 USD = 2 BBD. - YOU ARE ON ISLAND TIME. Things/people/servers move at a slower pace. Just have a drink and RELAX. - RUM punch is the island drink. I highly recommend it. - The wearing of any form of camouflage is illegal in Barbados. - The water is safe to drink.

COVID information- UPDATED 3/22 YAY!
Please visit the Barbados website for entry protocols. Barbados is currently very strict. Hopefully this will change by May! We will keep you updated! Highlights for entry: -They do require a negative covid (PCR) test at least three days prior to departure. -A Rapid PCR test is NOW ACCEPTED YAY! - Just needs to be done within a 24 hour period and by a healthcare professional! - 502 Urgent care if you are in the louisville area - quick and easy results! -If you are not vaccinated, it is not worth it to go. -They no longer do a second test when you arrive, as long as you show proof of full vaccination and your negative PCR! yay! -MASKS are still REQUIRED in grocery stores and certain restaurants. Please be mindful/respectful. THIS IS NOT THE USA! -To get back into U.S., you can book an appointment for a doctor to come to you for your rapid test. Ask your hotel to book for you or look on the Barbados website. I would suggest booking this test for the day AFTER the wedding, to ensure you make it to the wedding : )
