Question

Do I need a passport to go to Barbados?

Answer

Yes. A passport is required to enter Barbados. Please make sure your passport is also not expiring within six (6) months of your departure to Barbados as you may not be allowed to travel.

Question

My children were not on the invitation, can I bring them?

Answer

We understand that some will want to turn this trip into a family vacation and encourage you to bring your children to the island if you would like. However, given the limited capacity for the catamaran, ceremony, and reception, those three events will be adults and wedding party only. If you do wish to bring your children then please check out Island Sitters in Barbados to arrange childcare for the ceremony and reception and if you wish to join us on Saturday on the catamaran.

Question

Will I need to bring some other currency besides the US Dollar?

Answer

No. The U.S. Dollar is accepted everywhere on the island. The exchange rate is 1 USD is equal to 2 BBD. If you are bringing a credit card the most widely accepted credit cards are Mastercard and Visa.

Question

Is the island safe?

Answer

YES! The island is safe. Tourism is the main source of income for the island and locals are generally friendly and outgoing. However, as with any city, please pay attention to your surroundings. I like to utilize the buddy system anywhere I go!

Question

How do I get from the hotel to the wedding venue and back?

Answer

This will depend on how many people stay at the same hotel, we are going to attempt to provide transportation for the day of. The island is easy and safe to get around. The hotels should be able to easily get you a taxi and get you to your desired location. If you choose to not stay at one of the hotels and rent a villa off of VRBO, we will be able to provide you with some taxi contacts to arrange transportation.

Question

I am nervous about COVID. What are the protocols for Barbados?

Answer

As of right now, to enter Barbados you have to have a negative PCR test (NOT RAPID) administered by a health official within 72 hours of your departure to Barbados. If you are fully vaccinated ( Need to have vaccination card with you!) there is no quarantine period and you are free to roam the country! For departure to the U.S., you will need to get a negative test within 24 hours prior to departure. This can be a rapid test. There are a list of doctors on the Barbados website that will come to your hotel or villa and perform the test there. Just call or email to make the appointment. There is also a gymnasium where all Barbados testing is done, that a taxi service can take you to. I would suggest getting this test the morning AFTER the wedding, to ensure you're able to make it to the wedding.

Question

Cancellation policies?

Answer

The Beach View will give a full refund if canceled 14 days prior. The Marriott is allowing cancellations up to 4 days prior to arrival. As of right now, due to covid, we are pretty sure all airlines will issue you a credit if you decide to cancel. This credit can be used for later flights. Call to verify.

Question

Where will the Bride and Groom be staying?

Answer

We will be staying at a VRBO site that is very close to the Beach View hotel!

For all the days along the way
