Like all great modern love stories, ours began… online. Some couples say they exchanged numbers; we like to say we reviewed each other’s "biodatas" and decided the match looked promising. After a few weeks of chatting, teasing, and discovering that we could talk about absolutely anything, we set a date for July 5, 2022. Our first meeting was supposed to be simple, ice cream and a casual walk. But that “casual walk” turned into hours of wandering through downtown Calgary, completely lost in conversation about our lives, our dreams, and everything in between. For the record Jannah showed up in an outfit that Arunit insists wasn’t his favourite but thankfully, her charm, humour, and overall personality helped him look past the fashion choice. From that day on, we became inseparable. Our early dates included the Calgary Stampede, spontaneous trips to Banff & Canmore, and countless movie nights...something Jannah never imagined doing regularly until Arunit turned her into a movie-theatre enthusiast. We bonded over our shared love of food and travel and made it our mission to explore Calgary one restaurant at a time. And somewhere between the long walks, the popcorn buckets, and the perfect meals, we realized we’d found the person we didn’t want to do life without.
