The Wedding Website of Angela Lundberg and Jake Dubs
We know this is a major trip and a big financial/time commitment. We want this experience to be as incredible and stress-free as possible. Hopefully most of your questions will be answered below, but we're here for you if you need anything! Just text/email Angela (808-557-9498 / rosesatsuko@gmail.com) or Jake (914-582-8597 / dubsjm@gmail.com)
Question

What airport do we fly into?

Answer

Kona International Airport (KOA). It is only about a 15-minute drive to the Four Seasons Hualalai, where all wedding events will be. KOA has many direct flights from mainland USA airports, but you can also fly direct to Honolulu, and take a 35-minute connection to Kona. No matter which Hawaiian island you fly to, you can fly to Kona from there.

Question

Where do we stay?

Answer

The short answer: The Four Seasons Hualalai. This is where all events are happening and will make your experience the easiest and most fun. It's also where we have a discounted room block (more than 40% off, 3-night minimum stay). That said, if you want to be slightly more budget-conscious, there are lots of options on this part of the island. Please check our "Travel" section for other hotels. And please be aware you'll definitely need to rent a car if staying off property.

Question

What do we wear?

Answer

For the welcome party, cocktail attire (button downs, polos or Aloha shirts & slacks for men / cocktail dresses for women). For the ceremony & reception, it's black tie preferred. Men, please wear a tux, but if you have a black suit, that's fine. Ladies, feel free to wear bright and bold dresses/gowns. Angela wants to be shown up. LFG!!! Ladies, please also try to wear comfortable shoes, as there will be grass and slightly uneven ground involved. For both events, stiletto or otherwise-thin heels are not recommended. For the reception, feel free to bring along flat sandals to dance in!

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

Sorry, but yes. Taxis, Ubers & Lyfts are often unreliable here. If you're not staying on property (and even if you are), we recommend getting a rental car. There is a ton to explore and see on the island (please check out our "What To Do" section of the site). Make sure to book a rental car asap from KOA airport. Turo is a good option, as well.

Question

Wait, why the hell is the wedding on a Thursday?

Answer

We swear, it's not because it was a better deal. The private club hosting the ceremony & reception (Ke'Olu Clubhouse) is only available to non-members on Thursdays. Our hope is people will be able to take the week off from work (or work remotely) to celebrate with us, but we understand not everyone's jobs/kids will allow for this. We hope it won't hinder you from coming!

Question

Wait, also, why the hell is the wedding all the way in Hawaii?

Answer

Angela was born and raised on the Kohala coast of the Big Island and still has a bunch of family there. Also, it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth and has incredible weather all year-round. Trust us, it's worth using up vacation days for. YOLO! Join us!

Question

Can we bring our kids?

Answer

While we've decided to make all wedding events adult-only (aside from our flower girl & ring-bearer), you're of course more than welcome to bring your kids with you to Hawaii! It would literally be illegal to tell you where you can and can't bring your children. The Four Seasons offers babysitting services for anyone who wants that option during the events. Please contact us for more info on that. And thank you in advance for your understanding and not being mad at us.

Question

When should we arrive on island?

Answer

Totally up to you! But we definitely recommend a week+ in Hawaii if your job/budget/familial responsibilities allow for it. The wedding events will be Weds 11/5 & Thurs 11/6, so please arrive by at least Wednesday, as early in the day as possible. The Welcome Party starts at 5pm. If you want to get the most of the events and make sure you're not jet-lagged (Hawaii Standard Time is 5 hours behind EST), we recommend coming earlier in the week or the previous weekend, and maybe even hitting another island first. Go to Kauai! YOLO 😎

Question

Have you reserved blocks of rooms at any hotels?

Answer

Yes, we negotiated a great discounted room block at The Four Seasons Hualalai, where all the wedding events are happening (more than 40% off, 3-night minimum stay). We're only able to reserve discount room blocks at this location.

Question

What should I do if I don't make it into the room block?

Answer

If you miss the deadline to reserve a room in our block or the block fills up, reach out to the hotel and mention our wedding anyway (group.reservation.hualalai@fourseasons.com) — they may be able to accommodate you with our discount in a room outside of our block. If not, you can find additional nearby accommodations on our "Travel" page of the site.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Please RSVP digitally, right here on the site!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by August 15th, but it's always helpful to know sooner! 😘

Question

Will there be a shuttle to or from the hotel(s) for the wedding events?

Answer

Unfortunately there are simply too many hotels and accommodation options for people, and the area is very large, so the logistics would be too complicated. As taxis, Ubers and Lyfts are often hard to come by and unreliable on the island, we recommend everyone rent a car or Turo out of KOA airport (even if you're staying on property, as you'll want a car to explore the island with).

Question

What will the weather be like on The Big Island in November?

Answer

Hold on, let us Google that for you! While we obviously can't predict the forecast, we picked Hawaii partly because the weather is spectacular year-round. At this time of year, the high is typically 84°, and the low typically 70° with very little rain. Pack for summer weather (shorts, tees & bathing suits), but it's not a terrible idea to throw in a sweatshirt or light jacket just in case.

Question

What time should we arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at the Ke'Olu Clubhouse (a private club on the Four Seasons Hualalai property) by 3:30pm. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00pm and we'll have refreshments for you. If you're staying on property, we'll have shuttles at the lobby taking people up there at 3:15pm. If you're not staying on property, you should be able to park directly at Ke'Olu or near the lobby and grab the shuttle.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, don't worry. We would never have you fly all the way out here and not supply you with copious amounts of free booze. There will be an open bar throughout the wedding events. 🍹🍸🥃🍷🥂🍺 So wear your dancing shoes and plan transportation/designated drivers accordingly! (Or stay on property and drink your face off, consequence free.)

Question

Is there parking available at the wedding venue for all events?

Answer

Yes, you'll be able to valet or self-park at The Four Seasons Hualalai for the welcome party, and up at Ke'Olu on the wedding day.

Question

Will the wedding events be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Barring inclement weather (please cross your fingers and pray with us 🙏), all wedding events will be outdoors. We'll have backup locations if there's any rain. Either way, we promise it will be beautiful.

Question

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Answer

We plan on having an entree choice that's vegan and/or gluten-free to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions. If you have additional restrictions, please let us know. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Question

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

Answer

As we'd like to keep the guest list just to those who know us well, if you’re invited with a plus-one, it will be included on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to share this special day with you!

Question

Can we take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present for the experience. Our photographer & videographer will capture all the highlights, and we'll share the photos afterwards. Feel free to pull your phones out before and after, and post pics and videos using #Jangela25

Question

Where should we bring or send our wedding gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! But if you'd like to honor us with a gift, there's a digital registry link for our honeymoon fund on this site (through Venmo, since they don't take fees), and there will be a wedding card box at our reception. Gifts can also be mailed to 161 NW 107th St. Miami Shores, FL 33168. We kindly ask no large physical gifts be brought to Hawaii.
