How did Tom propose to Janet?

It was just before sunset on the 9th anniversary of the day we met, January 30th. Before heading to dinner at a favorite Indian restaurant, we decided to walk along the French River “pond” to checkout the otter family living there. It was a very chilly walk and half the pond was frozen. Three swans were in the open water and one was paddling closer to where we were standing. As I turned to look at Tom, he was getting down on one knee and asked “Will you marry me?”as he held an opened pink velvet box revealing a spectacular engagement ring. I answered, “Yes!” immediately and placed the ring on my finger. The ring is rose gold with a moss agate stone surrounded by diamonds. The ring and the moment was perfect. The path covered in snow, half frozen pond and three swans as our witnesses was magical!

Will there be a honeymoon after the wedding?

Yes! We have reserved a very unique Tree Cabin Airbnb in Newport, VT. The fully functional cabin sits in a large tree overlooking a private pond in the woods. The interior of the cabin is made up of rustic features relating to parts of a tree. A large wooden hot tub also faces the pond, along with a fire pit area. A canoe is available to use in the pond (although Pea Pod is coming along)!! There are trails and a wide variety of wildlife to observe too. This is all right up our alley ( and very romantic)!!
