**This is a beautiful 3.3 mile hike to the top. The trail is steep in in the beginning (though you never get near an edge!) but the view at the top is worth it! If the skies are clear, you will see Mt. McLoughlin - and maybe Mt. Hood and the rim of Crater Lake!
For those of you with a taste of the weird and wacky, this venue's claim to fame is "The Famous Circular Area with its Unique Phenomena, open to the public since 1930". And here's an excerpt straight from their website: "The Oregon Vortex is a glimpse of a strange world where the improbable is the commonplace and everyday physical facts are reversed. It is an area of naturally occurring visual and perceptual phenomena, which can be captured on film. No matter your education or profession you will find a challenge to all your accepted theories."
