Travel & Accommodations

The Wedding Website of Krista Jarrell and Jan Martinez
Map of Downtown Savannah. Pro Tip: You can always find North in Savannah because it's the river! If you hear people give cardinal directions, keep this in mind. Savannah is also designed in a grid, which makes it extremely easy to navigate as a tourist.

Travel Note

Staying in Savannah

You are welcome to stay in hotels or homes in the Savannah area, outside of those listed below. There are lots of places to choose from, including chain hotels, local boutiques, and Airbnb options. We recommend you stay within the Historic District (green area) for ease of transportation. Staying outside the green area is perfectly acceptable! But just note that the further you stay, the further you are from the reception venue and other recommended spots in town. Please reference the map above for recommended areas near our venues.

Travel Note

Transportation

Downtown Savannah is a highly walkable city designed in a grid system, making it very easy to navigate. Due to the historic nature of the city, parking is very limited. We advise against bringing or renting a car if at all possible. However, if you choose to bring or rent a car, know that most hotels will require daily fees to park cars overnight. Street parking is free on some residential streets outside of the Historic District, but most streets charge hourly. For those wanting to get around the Historic District, the city of Savannah offers a free bus service called DOT. We recommend checking times and bus routes for this convenient offering. If needed, Uber and Lyft are both prevalent in downtown Savannah.

Shuttle

Wedding Day Transportation

April 17, 2026 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm

For those staying in the Historic District (green area), transportation to the ceremony venue will be provided. Be at the pick-up location at 4 PM. Those staying outside the green area must make their way to the pick-up location or directly to Forsyth. Our pickup location is near the Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites. If you’re walking over, use this address: 223 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Savannah, GA 31401 If you are staying near Forsyth Park, we recommend you walk over for the ceremony instead of taking the trolley. Plan to arrive at Forsyth by 4:30 PM. The trolley will then take ALL guests to the reception venue from Forsyth Park. Transportation from the reception venue back to your accommodations will NOT be provided. However, the hotels chosen are within walking distance of the reception venue. Uber and Lyft are prevalent in Savannah for those further away.

Flight

Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV)

The SAV airport is approximately 20-30 minutes from Downtown Savannah, where our wedding will take place. Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis are fairly easy to get at the airport and commonly take guests to/from the Downtown area. The Savannah/Hilton Head airport is quite small, with only one terminal, and might require stops in Atlanta or other major airports nearby.
