Answer

The wedding and reception are both being held at The Alley Station Ballroom on Commerce Street in downtown Montgomery. Please see the Travel section for a map and address for the location.

Answer

There are 2 ways to enter The Alley Station Ballroom. If you park on Tallapoosa Street near the Biscuit Stadium or if you use the Biscuit's free parking deck, you will enter the alley at the large Oil Tank and walk down the alleyway towards the entrance for SaZa Italian Restaurant. You will see signs and security for the Powell wedding. Take the elevator to the ballroom on the second floor, where you will be greeted by a hostess. If you enter on Commerce Street, near Escapology, you will see signs for the Powell wedding near the main entrance for SaZa Italian Restaurant.

Answer

Our celebration will be semi-formal/ cocktail attire—think cocktail dresses, suits, or a suit and tie. We kindly ask all guests to wear navy blue to the wedding. We’re excited to create a beautiful, cohesive look for the day and truly appreciate your help in making it extra special!

What time should I arrive?What time should I arrive?

Answer

Help us get the party started as scheduled! We recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony to make sure everyone is seated on time. The doors will open at 2:15pm for any guests that arrive early to the event. The doors will close promptly at 2:55pm and no one will be allowed to enter until after the ceremony is over.

Answer

After the ceremony and before the reception begins, we’ll be serving light hors d’oeuvres, including an assortment of fruits, vegetables, and cheeses, along with sweet tea, lemonade, and water. During the dinner hour, we invite you to toast to our marriage with a glass of sparkling, non-alcoholic wine. For full dinner and dessert details, please visit the Schedule section of this website.

Answer

Both our wedding and reception will be alcohol-free events. If you’d like to enjoy an alcoholic beverage, there are nearby options available. SaZa Italian Restaurant, located downstairs, offers a full bar. The Alley Bar and The Aviator Bar are also directly below the ballroom. Additional details can be found under the, “Things to Do,” tab of this website.

Answer

The Alley Station Ballroom and Warehouse are non smoking facilities. This policy includes e-cigarettes as well. You should be able to smoke outside on public streets and sidewalks and in designated smoking areas in the alley behind the warehouse. Thank you for understanding.

Yes. This is a family affair. Please register the children under the RSVP section for your family so that we may have an accurate head count.

Answer

Unfortunately, due to the limited occupancy at our venue, we have a strict guest list and are unable to accommodate additional guests. Our celebration is RSVP-only, and we kindly ask that only those listed on your invitation attend. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, love, and support!

Answer

Thank you in advance for submitting your RSVP by Sunday, May 25th, 2025. You can RSVP directly on our wedding website under the “RSVP” section. Simply enter your first and last name, then follow the prompts to respond for yourself and any members of your party listed on the invitation. Please include your home address as well.

Answer

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. An elevator is available to take guests to the second floor, and the event space is easy to navigate. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Answer

Your presence on our big day is the greatest gift we could ask for, and we’re so grateful to celebrate with you. If you would like to give a gift, you’re welcome to bring it with you if that’s convenient. Someone will be available to accept any physical or monetary gifts on our behalf at the venue. For those who prefer to contribute in other ways, please visit the Registry section of our website for more details. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Answer

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide transportation to the venue. However, if you're staying at one of the hotels listed in our Travel section, you'll be happy to know that The Alley Station Ballroom is just a short walk away! Both the ceremony and reception will be held at this same location, so there’s no need to travel between venues.

Who did the couple use as the caterer for the wedding?Who did the couple use as the caterer for the wedding?

Answer

There were actually two caterers for the wedding. The main catering services were provided by Simply Southern Cafe, located in McGehee Place Shopping Center at 3457 McGehee Rd, Montgomery, AL 36111. They provided their famous fried chicken, along with the sides, for the dinner. The number is (334) 523-1768. Ed's on Main, owned by Mr. Ed Calhoun and his wife Donna, was the second caterer and he provided his famous baked chicken as a special request of the bride and groom. He is also the bride's uncle! The bridesmaids' dresses were purchased from David's Bridal online. The store in Montgomery's Eastchase Mall is closed however you can still purchase online and there is a store location that's still open in Birmingham.

The refreshments were provided by the bride's aunt, Ms. Tressa Calhoun from Eclectic. Tressa has worked in catering services for many years. She also provided the meal for the wedding party's rehearsal dinner. She can be reached at 256-307-9908.

Ms. Princella Henderson and Company were the servers for the event. They are very good at providing dining services and taking care of the food service details for large groups and organizations; leaving the family members and guests free to enjoy their event. She can be reached at 334-320-0931.
