Our love story began many, many years ago as teenagers. Although we went our seperate ways after high school, we always remained BEST FRIENDS. Now, I know what you're thinking... How can kids be in love? Well, fast forward to 2019, Lil Baby said it best, "We started off as close friends, somehow you turned into my girlfriend, we used to tell each othe reverything, I even went and bought her diamond rings, matching earrings..." In 2019, our love story continued... We began to date as best "friends" and then we made it official. There is no better feeling than being in love with your best friend. Christmas Eve 2024 at our Christmas party, Barry asked me to marry him. As I reflect back on that night, more than the ring, I remember his words. "Baby, you know you're the apple of my eye, my heart and joy. I thank God that He put us together. I thank God that he put me in your path and he put you in my path. You're the love of my life and I want to do this forever. You're my best friend and I don't want to do it without you. Now, I'm not a man of that many words but I am more of a man of action. Will you marry me?" The entire proposal wrapped up God's promise to me. I'm grateful for not only God's promise, but the commitment that we've made to each other. We're excited and cannot wait to embark on this new journey together as, "The Powells."
