we're getting married...again!!!

I had deleted my Tinder app for good but decided to reinstall it one final time. I was driving when I logged in (yes I should have been focused on the road ha) but I noticed that Jamar had messaged me a few weeks back. I pulled over immediately to respond to him. He responded back shortly and I felt a sense of relief knowing he was still on the market! The message he sent to me was absolutely perfect and we hit it off from there. It sounds cliche'd but when we met for the first time almost a week later, I sensed a wholesomeness and tenderness in his smile that told me that he was the one. I knew it in my heart! Each day has been amazing ever since.

I was on Tinder one day and ran across Joey's profile. I saw his sexy pictures, so I obviously swiped right. We instantly matched, which I knew meant he just got a notification saying that I matched with him and I needed to message him now to pull him in while I got the chance. In his profile it was obvious that he loved to dance and wasn't a fan of Trump. So I thought I'd be clever with my first message and I said "I'm not much of a dancer but I'm 100% not a Trump supporter". A few days went by and I didn't get a response. So I figured my clever message wasn't as good as I thought and I lost this one. Two weeks later, Ashley and I randomly took a trip down to Myrtle Beach for just a night. On the way back, I received a Tinder notification on my phone. I thought I had deleted the app. (Thankfully I didn't) I took a quick glace at the notification and it said Joey's name. I quickly remembered who he was. I raced home so I could read his message. He explained to me that he deleted the app and never saw my message. We talked every day for hours. He was perfect until he told me that he is an Eagles fan. (I had to reconsider this.) But we continued and we finally met in person a week later. Things were going well, so he decided to tell me about the kids. (Up until this point I had no idea he had children) He looked at me and said "I'm a single father". I was just thinking to myself "that's fine. I like kids and I was thinking about having kids myself." I responded positively and he proceeded to say "I have 5 children and I have full custody of them". I was shocked. I was envisioning 1 but we just jumped to 5. He understood my shock and gave me some time to think. I decided to give it a shot. I liked him a lot and I figured if the kids were like him, I'd like them too. We spent every day together since then and it has been wonderful. Joey has been the best thing that has ever happened to me and my 5 new children mean the world to me. I wouldn't trade any of it.

Jamar's proposal was nothing short of amazing. We had agreed to meet with our moms at Duke Gardens on a rainy afternoon in late November. Shortly upon arrival though, I realized this wasn't just an average mother/son date. As I walked down towards a beautiful pond, I saw our kids emerge from the bushes on the other side of the pond with signs that read 'Papi Will You Marry Jamar'. I turned to my left and saw him walking towards me (lookin' fine as could be I must say) and I immediately screamed 'Yes, yes!' haha. I was overcome with joy and emotion. As he got closer to me, he got down on one knee and presented me with the lovely ring that I am proudly wearing now. We kissed and embraced to the cheers of our close friends and family members who came out of hiding to greet us. I honestly had no idea they were there! LOL. I became yet even more emotional when I saw that my brother had come down from Delaware to be there as well. Quite frankly, I still get teary-eyed when I think about that afternoon and I am still in awe of everything Jamar did to make the proposal such a special occasion for the both of us. I am thankful for everyone who shared our joyous moment with us but I am especially thankful for our dear friend Ashley who helped Jamar coordinate everything. It was one of the happiest days of my life but I know it will pale in comparison to the day that I finally get to call Jamar my husband.
