Founded in 1911, Goumas Candyland is a must-see if you have a sweet tooth. Sarah's favorites are the raspberry creams. Jake enjoys the salted caramels. Chocolate-covered potato chips are a Charlton Family favorite.
Our favorite coffee shop. River Road has excellent coffee and tea selections.
Sarah's favorite lunch spot in Granville. Make sure you try an oatmeal blondie.
Three Tigers is a staple if you are looking for a local beer and great Vietnamese food. It is located downtown in a renovated firehouse. Great for vegan and dairy free options.
This is Sarah's favorite place to grab a drink and dinner in Granville. Snag a table outside if you can.
Denison is a picturesque college on a hill, literally. If you're looking for a workout, park on Main Street by the 4 churches and walk up from the south side of campus. Be sure to stop by Swasey Chapel.
Built over 2,000 years ago and recently named an UNESCO World Heritage site, the Newark Earthworks include the Great Circle, which is one of the largest geometric enclosures built by the Hopewell culture. It is nearly 1,200 feet in diameter and encloses nearly 30 acres. At the center of the Great Circle is a large mound known as Eagle Mound for its symmetrical, somewhat winged shape. While this isn't technically in Granville, we highly suggest making the visit.
Reader's Garden is an independently-owned bookstore in the heart of Granville.
If you're sticking around for the long weekend, and have the time, we highly recommend spending an afternoon here. Tee times go fast, so book ahead.
