We're Getting Married!

Peyton's Version: Jake and I met one fine evening out at the volleyball courts at Howelsen Hill in Steamboat Springs, CO. Jake was running the volleyball league I was playing in with some friends from church and work. Jake apparently was impressed with my skills out there and came up to ask if I had played in college. I told him yes and from there our story began! Our first date was a hike at Mad Creek. We hiked until it got dark and encountered some bears on our way back to the car. From there we continued to get to know each other until we decided to make things official! Since then it has been a wonderful journey of falling in love. We've gotten to experience so many amazing adventures together already and I can't wait to continue to adding to the list. Jake is my favorite adventure partner. I love how he makes everyone feel at home. He is the ultimate hype man, the most thoughtful and considerate partner, the best sous chef, and most importantly the sweetest "papa" to our little Lucy. It has been the greatest honor to fall in love with Jake, and I cannot wait to take the next step in our journey together and become husband and wife! _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Jake's Version: When I met Peyton for the first time I was very impressed with her volleyball skills, and I thought to myself, why is she playing in a low level league? I saw this as a great opportunity to capitalize on, and invited her to come out and play with my friends and I. I also threw in a few compliments about her skills. It was the perfect pickup line! After approaching her that first time and starting a conversation, I felt things had went well so I asked to give her a ride home after volleyball....And was shot down. I decided to try again the following week. She had walked down to the courts to play and by the time we were finished it was dark out, I thought this opportunity was more promising. Nope, shot down again. Of course Peyton will say that if I had asked one more time she would've said yes... I say all of this, but after our first date a few weeks later, it took me a few months to come to my senses and ask Peyton to be my girlfriend. Turns out that was the best decision I've ever made. Peyton is the most thoughtful, caring, considerate, beautiful and goofy partner I could ever ask for. She goes above and beyond to treat everyone as a friend. I feel so fortunate that I now get to spend the rest of my life with her. She pushes me to be a better version of myself in everything I do. She is passionate about everything she does or tries whether it be her work, sports, crafting she will give it her all. Good luck trying to beat her in a game of ping pong. I love supporting her in all of her endeavors. I feel so fortunate to have Peyton as my partner and that we get to continue to grow and experience life together. Peyton is my best friend and I am more than in love with her and of course Lucy!
