For those that don't know, Jake and Kristen first met on the Tinder dating app on January 15, 2022. Jake had caught Sugar, her mini American Eskimo dog, in one of her pictures, and had super liked her instantly. It turns out he too had an American Eskimo dog, Piper. It was a quick bonding point for the two of them. However, Kristen didn't want to get her hopes up, so she waited about a day before she messaged him back. A couple weeks went by of them talking, and they decided that they would meet each other in person. Then on January 30, 2022, they had their first date at the Outback located at the King of Prussia mall. Unfortunately, that Outback is no longer there for them to go back to as they turned it into a different restaurant. They still go to the mall though, and Kristen can always remember the first time she saw Jake in that parking lot. Their third date was when Jake officially asked Kristen to be his girlfriend, which was on February 8, 2022. He technically asked her over text message two days prior to that as he was too excited and didn't want to wait any longer. However, Kristen did make him wait for an answer as she wanted to be asked in person. Towards the end of the month on February 26, 2022 was when Jake first met Kristen's family. They planned a dinner at Longhorn so that everyone can meet him, and later on that night, Jake and Kristen said they loved each other for the first time. About a week later Kristen met Jake's family on March 6, 2022 for Jake's mom's birthday dinner. I'm sure you could imagine how nervous the two of them were during all of this, because these were very big moments for them. A year and a half later, on September 2, 2023, Kristen moved in with Jake. This was a big step for Kristen as the only home she's ever known was at her parents' house. However, this was when Jake and Kristen realized they were truly meant to be together. They now see each other every day, whether it be a good day or a bad day, and they are still there for one another. They both have grown closer with each other's families as well. Kristen now feels comfortable with Jake's family, no more nerves. So much so that there are days she's spent with them without Jake there. Same goes for Jake too though. For instance, Kristen's dad isn't afraid to call Jake for help on jobs. One of the jobs they worked on together was actually where Jake asked Kristen's dad for permission to marry her. Her dad was one happy man that day. Eventually, another year went by, and Jake had asked Kristen to marry him on August 30, 2024 on the Utopia of the Seas cruise ship during her family's vacation. Jake was so nervous the entire time and couldn't wait for that part to be over, but he truly hid it well. Kristen had no idea that he was going to ask right then and there. All Kristen can remember is that somehow she got pulled away from Jake, and next thing you know she was told that they were going to take pictures in their matching shirts. Kristen was concerned because she didn't know where Jake was, but it turns out she was being lead to where he was. Kristen had started getting herself in a mindset ready for photos, and the very next moment Jake is down on one knee. Kristen didn't even notice the "Will You Marry Me" sign until Jake pointed it out for her. It was the best surprising moment in Kristen's life as she was left in shock. Now, about another year later, Jake and Kristen will officially be marrying one another on September 20, 2025. They are so excited to be starting another new chapter in their lives, and can't wait to share their special day with all of their loved ones.
