Question

What should guests expect for accommodations at Deerwoode Reserve?

Answer

Deerwoode Reserve is a 175 acre nature reserve in the Blue Ridge Mountains located outside of Brevard, NC with numerous on-site cabins. Think of them more as a bunch of rustic Airbnbs, not your stereotypical summer camp cabins. We have booked the entire place for Friday and Saturday night. Once we have RSVPS collected, we will communicate with guests to determine cabin assignments. We will do our best to satisfy the unique situations of all parties. Note that if you'd prefer to bring your own tent or dry camp in your camper, those options are allowed! There is a bathroom available for this. Just let us know so that we assign the cabin beds accordingly! Check out the different cabins and amenities here: https://deerwoode.com/cabins/

Question

What is there to do at Deerwoode Reserve?

Answer

Check out this site: https://deerwoode.com/property/ "Deerwoode Reserve boasts a peaceful natural setting to escape the everyday and consists of 175 acres of conservation land, with trails, ponds, water activities and beautiful Mountain surroundings, promoting a natural habitat for wildlife. With over 5 miles of walking trails, spring-fed swimming hole, ponds for fishing, kayaks & canoes to paddle around the lake, 1.4 miles of French Broad River frontage, a bamboo forest, hammocks & fire pits, and rustic cabins for your guests, Deerwoode Reserve is the perfect place to help you channel those summer camp vibes." Bring swimsuits and other swim things like tubes and floats! The river also makes for a natural lazy (one-way) river. If you want to fish, you'll need to bring your own equipment. The kayaks and canoes are there and available to use.

Question

Should guests seek accommodations outside of Deerwoode Reserve for Friday, June 27th and Saturday, June 28th?

Answer

The cost of Deerwoode Reserve on-site accommodations for all guests for Friday and Saturday night is ALREADY COVERED. Unless otherwise discussed with the couple, please refrain from reserving accommodations that are not on-site cabins for the dates noted. These cabins are a triple win for us! They are a way for us to thank you for taking the time and spending the money to come to our destination wedding, they are an intentional way to get extended time together besides the main event, and they gave us a solution as to how to have alcohol at our wedding and eliminate the concern of transportation. There will be no driving allowed in or out of the event once the ceremony has started. Rideshare is not an option in this location. Note that the vehicle keys of all guests will be collected on Saturday before the ceremony and returned Sunday morning. This is a non-negotiable.

Question

When can I get into my cabin?

Answer

We will have access to all of the cabins at Deerwoode Reserve beginning Friday at noon. We will be at the Biltmore during this time and will head here afterwards. If you are wanting to skip the Biltmore tour and get here before us, we can coordinate with the venue to get you into your cabin before our arrival.

Question

Will alcohol be served at the reception?

Answer

Yes, we will have an assortment of beer and wine available to guests throughout the evening. As stated above, note that there will be no driving allowed in or out of the event once the ceremony has started. Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, etc) is not an option in this location. Note that the vehicle keys of all guests will be collected on Saturday before the ceremony and returned Sunday morning. This is a non-negotiable.

Question

Are "plus ones" invited?

Answer

All members of your invited party should pop up together when you digitally RSVP. Unless a person is listed there, they are not invited. We decided to have a smaller wedding and picked a venue with this in mind. Due to venue capacity restrictions, we cannot exceed our guest count.

Question

What is the dress code for the wedding?

Answer

This time of year is typically warm in Asheville and surrounding areas. Therefore, for attire, we are going with "summer dressy casual". Hawaiian shirts with khakis or dress shorts/pants and summer dresses or jumpsuits are encouraged! No jeans please.

Question

Will the ceremony be inside or outside?

Answer

Plan A for the ceremony is to be outside in a grassy field close to the reception venue. This is almost fully unshaded when sunny. Plan B is inside the reception venue.

Question

What is the deadline for RSVPs?

Answer

Please have your RSVP in for the various events by May 28th, 2025.

Question

Where are we registered?

Answer

We are not registered anywhere. At this time, we are kindly requesting that guests please refrain from giving tangible wedding gifts. You presence is your gift to us. If you feel inclined to give us a gift, we have our various honeymoon funds in the "Registry" tab for contributions via Venmo. WE WILL ALSO HAVE A CARD BASKET AT THE RECEPTION.
