FAQs

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Formal invitations will be sent out near summertime, at which point you can submit your RSVP.

Question

Can I bring a plus-one?

Answer

If your invitation included a plus-one, you’re welcome to bring them. Otherwise, we’re unable to accommodate additional guests, as this is a smaller, more intimate event. We really appreciate your understanding!

Question

Can I bring my children?

Answer

We love your children, but this will be an adults only event. We hope this allows everyone to relax and enjoy a fun evening out!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early to allow time for parking, going through security at City Hall, and getting seated before the ceremony begins.

Question

What is security like at San Francisco City Hall?

Answer

San Francisco City Hall has airport-style security at all entrances. Guests will pass through metal detectors and all bags will be screened upon entry. It’s generally quick, but lines can take a bit of time, so we recommend arriving 30 minutes early. Prohibited items include pocket knives, alcohol, etc. See City Hall website for full details.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire Men: Dress pants or slacks paired with a button-down shirt. A blazer or sport coat is a great addition if you’d like to elevate the look, but it’s not required, and ties are entirely optional. Women: Cocktail dresses, midi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or elevated separates are all great choices. For footwear, heels, dressy sandals, or flats all work beautifully. Weather note: Evenings in San Francisco can be chilly. We recommend bringing a light jacket, wrap, or sweater.

Question

What Will the Weather Be Like?

Answer

October in San Francisco is typically beautiful and often one of the warmest, sunniest months of the year. Daytime temperatures usually range from the mid-60s to low-70s, while evenings can cool into the mid-50s.

Question

How do I get from City Hall to the reception?

Answer

We highly recommend using ride-share services (Uber, Lyft, etc.) whenever possible, as parking around City Hall and in the Mission District can be limited and difficult to find. Between the ceremony and reception, it’s a quick 10–15 minute drive, depending on traffic, and there are typically plenty of pick-up options available near City Hall. If you plan on driving, see the 'Schedule' tab for parking lot reccommendations.

Question
