Jake and Carmel met on a rainy day in San Francisco. Thanks to modern technology (thanks Hinge!), our paths crossed and we realized we actually liked each other just as much in real life. We quickly discovered that we share a love of adventure and the outdoors. Early dates involved wandering the city, motorcycle rides, and hiking in Marin. One of our first big trips was to Loney Meadow in the Tahoe National Forest. It was there that we realized this could be something serious, and a few years later, Jake returned to the same spot to propose. Since then, our adventures have taken us all over. We’ve rented a camper van to explore the Oregon coast, soaked in hot springs in Ouray Colorado, swam in the cenotes of Tulum, eaten our way through Italy, walked the city streets of Tokyo, and spent countless weekends exploring the best views (and food!) California has to offer. The Bay Area is where we met, fell in love, and shared so many firsts — different apartments, roommates, our first home, and countless memories along the way. It only felt right to celebrate here, in the place that has been the backdrop to so much of our story. Between city streets, mountain trails, campfires, and faraway countries, we’ve loved discovering life together. Every adventure, big and small, has shown us how much fun life can be with the right person. We can’t wait to celebrate our next adventure, our wedding day, with all of our favorite people.
