Maid of Honor
Erin is my little baby sister. She is energetic, kind, and never leaves a dance floor un-danced on. Since we were little, we have always been close, from concerts, plays, fashion shows and makeovers to sports, camping and, occasionally, a few full-fledged wrestling matches (of which Erin has gone undefeated), we have a lifetime full of stories, laughs and memories. Not only my sister, but also my best friend, I couldn't imagine a better person to stand up beside me at the alter. Ask her about her "party trick" at the wedding and I'm sure she'll gladly show you... but don't come empty handed, she'll need a Corona. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
Erin Abbott and I have been best friends since we were only 5 years old. One day on the playground, I thought I should teach a little red-headed stranger how to do the most athletic thing I had ever mastered: a simple flip over a 2 ft. bar...impressive no? Since that day, Erin Abbott has never let me one up her athletically again. However, she has ALWAYS been my go-to, a true best friend, support system and rock. Her loyalty is unmatched. No matter how far apart we live, we always know we have each other no matter what. Make sure to ask her to show you her "look at my knees" dance move on the wedding night, I'm sure she'll be happy to teach it to you. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
Kelly and I have known each other since I was 5, and Kelly was 6. We met very soon after Kelly's sister, Erin Abbott and I met that fateful day in the park. At first Kelly was much too old, and much too cool to be friends with me. Luckily, however, I soon got two amazing friendships out of the Abbott Family. Kelly will make you laugh like no other, sometimes gasp, but mostly laugh. She is loving, generous and so invested in the people she cares about. She really knows how to make you feel appreciated. She may be cat-obsessed, but to me she's purrrfect. Make sure to ask her about the time someone thought she was my mother, she'll love that I promise. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
Steph and I met a whole 8 years ago, when I wandered into her work at Boston Pizza to awkwardly introduce myself, and then proceed to leave the restaurant without ordering anything at all. It's safe to say I was nervous to meet my boyfriend's older sisters. But, in reality I had absolutely no need to be. Steph has become like another sister to me. I was lucky enough to stand beside her when she married the love of her life, and in April she gave me the most amazing gift, asking me to be her first son's God Mother. Her genuine warmth and kindness have always made me feel like family, and I have learned so much from her. As long as no one challenges her to a basketball game at the wedding, you'll be lucky enough to meet one of the sweetest people in my life. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
Amber and I also met around 8 years ago. I don't remember how exactly we met, I only remember instantly feeling like we were already friends. As Scott's older sister, she has truly become like an older sister to me as well. She is funny, thoughtful and caring, and I admire her in so many ways. We have so many hilarious memories together, too many to write here, but I always know that if I'm going to be spending time with Amber, I'm about to have a really great time. If Amber looks hungry on the dance floor at the wedding, be sure to ask if she wants some "Street bread", it's her favourite late night snack. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
Alyssa (Lyss) and I were randomly put together as roommates at Carleton University in September, 2012. We shared one bedroom and a bathroom for an entire school year, and then chose to live together for another three years after that. People often think we are sisters, and there really is no better compliment to me than hearing that. She's hilarious, energetic, kind, and so understanding, her energy truly fills a room and you feel like a better person just for knowing her. She can't be perfect though. Her kryptonite you ask? PRINTERS, but I'm sure we won't have any of those at the wedding, so she should be her perfect-self when you meet her. - Jaime
Bridesmaid
I met Erin one week into starting school at Carleton University in 2012. We very quickly bonded over our towering height, and annoying gluten allergies, and lived together for three years after that. Erin is the absolute funniest person I have ever met, I'm laughing constantly when I'm with her. All throughout my time at school, Erin was my go-to "yes" girl, always ready for a new adventure, a funny dare, a girls night out, you name it, she's beating you out the door to go do it. Her humour is second only to her kindness and generosity. At the wedding I dare you to name a movie she can't quote, you won't be able to, BUT be sure not to hug her, she isn't a "hugger." - Jaime
Groomsman
Mat and I met through hockey when we were kids, either playing against each other or on the same team over the years. We became best friends though, when we started grade 7 at St. Mat's. We've grown up together, and had the best time doing it. Through everything, Mat has always been there. He's even opened his door to Jaime and I to live with him for 4 summers, and how did I thank him? I almost burnt down his house cooking (already cooked) potatoes. Over the years Mat has not only been a best friend to me, but also has become a best friend to Jaime. That's why we chose Mat to be our wedding Officiant. To have someone who means so much to both of us stand up with us, and marry us, is truly amazing. We know he will do the BEST job, he'll have the best stories, AND the best grammar. - Scott
Best Man
Al and I met back when I was 17, when we were both training at Base Conditioning during our summer off seasons. Since then, we've trained every summer together, each going different ways once the hockey season started. But this year, we finally got to be on the same team. Jaime jokes that she shares custody of me with Al, since our golf and hockey schedules always seem to match up, we spend probably a little too much time together. Over the years, Al has become one of my best friends, and I am so happy to have him be my best man at our wedding. If you want to chat him up at the wedding just bring him some Crown Royal and mention his dog Spencer, and he'll show you at least 10 pics, and 2 videos.
Groomsman
Max and I met way back in our Brockville Braves days. At first Max didn't like me, something about being "too cool" for me. But once he gave me a chance, he realized I was much cooler than he gave me credit for, and we could start a friendship. Max is absolutely hilarious, always down for a giggle. He maybe works a little too hard on the golf course, which sadly has just not been paying off for him yet, but we're working on it. As one of my best friends, I couldn't be happier having Max stand with me on my wedding day. If Max looks thirsty at the wedding, he especially likes "Earthy Cocktails" the more leaves mixed in, the better. He likes to pretend he doesn't know there's leaves in his teeth and start conversations with people. Just give him a laugh and I promise, he'll move on- Scott
Groomsman
Kale and I met back when we used to play junior hockey against one another, but really became friends when I was introduced to him through Al and Max a few years ago. Kale is not only one of my best friends, but also my financial advisor, so he'll be happy to know this wedding website was free to make. Kale is hilarious, and always has a million stories to tell, that all seem to start with "Kay, so.." More than funny, he is also a stand-up guy, having raised over $80,000 for his brother's hockey league in only a few years at charity golf tournaments. I'm lucky to have someone like Kale stand with me on my wedding day. If you talk to Kale at the wedding, you'll understand what a great guy he really is, unless you literally CAN'T understand him, parties tend to make him speak cursive - Scott
Groomsman
Like most of my best friends (if you couldn't already sense a trend), I met Owen through hockey when we were kids, and then became best friends once we were in middle school. Owen is an awesome guy, always ready to have a good time, and always good for a laugh. He's been one of my longest and best friends, and we've really grown up together (well, somewhat at least). Besides the fact that he sniffed Jaime's hair the first time he met her, he has always been there for both Jaime and I, and a great friend to both of us. Sadly, we had to tell Owen that our wedding colour scheme will not include his typical blue t-shirt attire, so please, make sure to tell him his eyes still look nice in his suit at the wedding. - Scott
Groomsman
Evan is the ONLY groomsman I didn't meet through hockey. Instead, he dated my sister. When I first met Evan, we may have had a little wrestling match, I guess I was a little protective of Steph. But, I very quickly realized how perfect Evan was for my sister. The two got married in Mexico a couple of years back, and I was so honoured when Ev asked me to stand up with him. I really couldn't have asked for a better man for my sister. An amazing brother-in-law and friend, Evan is one of the best guys I know. He works hard, but always makes time for our family, and has given me the amazing opportunity of being an uncle and god-father to his little guy, Cash. If you meet Evan at the wedding, I assure you that of all of my groomsman, Evan will actually want to talk hockey the MOST. - Scott`
Groomsman
Tay and I met back when we started playing hockey for the Rangers when we were about 10. Once we started school together at St. Mat's in grade 7 though, we really became close. Ever since we have been best friends. Tay is a funny, genuine guy who is laid back but always down for a fun time. His outlook on life is something I really admire, and he truly embodies that "west-coaster" lifestyle out in Vancouver. Although we live across the country from one another, I know Tay is always there for me. PSA: Tay is known to "borrow" bicycles and bike home extremely long distances from parties - so wedding guests beware - hide yo bikes.
