(My mom actually asked me that before I moved here...) Yes. To travel from/around any hotels/airport/towns to and from the venue, to Yellowstone, and most other destinations, a regular old rental car will do just fine (don't forget to fill it up with gas, right Mom & Dad??). If you want to do some gnarly long hikes in the backcountry, you may want to consider something with higher clearance or 4WD.
At the venue, probably not. You will also probably not have service in most of Yellowstone. Anywhere in town has service.
No. If you try really hard to get eaten by a bear, maybe. Seriously, though, please use common sense regarding the wildlife. We read about and make fun of (brutally) dozens of tourists annually who get way too close to wildlife in Yellowstone and put themselves and the wildlife in dangerous situations. If you are one of those people, you can't sit with us anymore. Read the guidelines that the park service recommends following regarding wildlife. Carry bear spray and make noise if you are hiking. Hike with a buddy. Have control over your pups. There is more wildlife here than many other places in the country--it's no cause for alarm, just use common sense! If you need help with bear spray, please let us know!
YES. Montana is a few years behind the influx of tourism we've been seeing recently. Places have been filling up, and cars have been running out. Don't wind up paying $600 for a crappy room in downtown Bozeman...book early!
I sure wish I could answer this. Generally in July it is hot and dry during the day, and quite cool at night. If you're here for a week, you will likely encounter shorts weather as well as times when you wish you had a puffy jacket. Just bring layers and be prepared! Consider the change in weather as you increase in altitude if you are planning on a big hike.
Wise question! Bozeman and Livingston are both around 4,500 ft in elevation. The venue is situated around 5,000 ft. What does this mean? For starters, you will definitely be thirstier than you are in lower elevations. Stay hydrated! Our water is really good! You may find that you are a little more out of breath than usual. That is totally normal...but listen to your body! If you're not used to hiking, take it easy. Also, it is REALLY IMPORTANT TO NOTE that you WILL BE MORE STRONGLY AFFECTED BY ALCOHOL AT A HIGHER ELEVATION. If you usually drink at sea level, please be mindful that you should probably drink a little less at altitude!
Yes! Please be mindful if your kiddo is fussy during the ceremony.
Unfortunately you cannot bring your dog to the wedding. In general in our area there are endless trails where pups can romp...our dogs sure love being here! But the venue is pretty strictly not pet friendly, so look for lodging where they can hang out the night of the wedding.
Nope, sorry, it's full. I've heard good things about North Dakota...
