Around midnight on August 4th, 2016, Jacqui coasted, on the last fumes of gas in her dying Subaru, to her new apartment in Bozeman, Montana. Needing to start working immediately after spending all of her money getting said Subaru to Montana, she shot off some resumes to local restaurants before hitting the hay. The next morning, she had an email from a classy little Italian joint called Cafe Fresco for an interview that afternoon. She walked in, sat down for the interview with Head Chef Bryce, and knew she had found the one...and also a job! Over the next year and a half, there would be a highly professional work dynamic, a number of startling and perhaps confusing allusions to marriage, a truly harmonic kitchen groove, approximately 74 Friday lunch shifts jamming to Ska Break on KGLT, and finally, after they had both put in their notice, a first date. Followed, as it were, by a few more.
