Maid of Honor
I met my little sister Lindsy when I was almost 2 years old. I didn’t like her very much because she wouldn’t play with me, so I sat on her head. She has since forgiven me, but it’s been a bit harder for her to get over me stealing all of her barbies, I wasn’t very good at sharing as a kid. Since then, we now have come to share clothes, advice, and wine. Although she is managing to show me up pursing her doctorate, we still find the time to dish about Grey's Anatomy. I’m so lucky that my little sister is also my best friend.
Best Man
I met Riley when he was just a baby. In the last 22 years, I’d like to think that we have built quite a strong friendship, perhaps a brotherhood. From annoying and embarrassing our older sister from childhood to adulthood, we’ve made some pretty good memories along the way! Now as adults, we annoy each other about whose college football team is better (obviously Alabama). I’m glad to have a brother and friend like Riley and even more pleased to have him standing next to me on my big day!
Maid of Honor
Alison is not only my future sister-in-law, but also one of my closest friends. From the moment we met, she made me feel welcome and a true part of the McDermott family. We’ve since shared plenty of late-night "Mamma Mia" karaoke sessions, baking dates, and cheesy rom-com marathons! When we aren't doing these things, we can be found sharing a bottle of cabernet and analyzing the subtle differences in Taylor Swift's rerecordings and her surprise albums. Watch out for her killer dance moves and powerful voice!
Groomsman
Thomas and I started our journey as freshmen living across the hall from each other in Paty Penthouse - the coolest dorm on campus (actually the worst). We could be found playing ping pong in the common room, enjoying a patty melt at Late Night Lakeside, and grabbing a box combo from Cane’s on our way back from a night out. We remained friends and later became roommates during our Junior and Senior year. And if it weren’t for Thomas, Jacqui and I might not have ever crossed paths at Alabama.
Bridesmaid
Katherine and I met the summer after my sophomore year of college and we were never the same! From geeking out about beautiful math problems to dancing around her house to "Power Glide" with wine in our hands, we always found some way to make our days better. Although we live far apart, we have continued to support each other chatting about our men, and the ups and downs of life. I'm so lucky to have Katherine in my life and even more thankful that she will be there on my wedding day.
Groomsman
Thomas and I became mutual friends through Conner during the fall of my Junior year. Our friendship really grew during my Senior year when we would go to Bingo Night at Houndstooth, drink towers during Happy Hour at GloryBound and tailgate on the Quad. Our friendship was cemented by our shared love of “The Office” when we put our heads together to host the most spectacular Office Trivia Christmas Party ever along with Conner and Jacqui.
Bridesmaid
Emily (aka Em Nav) and I met back at Alabama in the Early College Program between our junior and senior year of high school. Being part of the few out of state students we bonded every weekend in our mandatory "fun" events, like going to Dr. Causey's lake house while trying to find Saban's and attending movie nights in Russel Hall. We continued our friendship into college and she witnessed the very beginning of Connor and I's relationship. Although she loved Connor, she vowed he would never make the jar (IYKYK).
Groomsman
I met Tommy my Freshmen year when we both lived on the 5th floor of Paty (aka Paty Penthouse). As freshman, we would grab lunch and dinner together at Lakeside dining with the rest of the “Paty Gang”. We could also be found playing Madden, NHL, and FIFA in his dorm room when not partying in my ✨pimped out✨ room. We remained friends and later became roommates our Junior and Senior year and further bonded over our shared dislike of Intermediate Accounting.
Bridesmaid
Amelia and I first met as pledges working to get into AKPsi. Although we weren't close through pledge-ship, we became great friends after we gained brotherhood where we spent late nights in Bruno, everyone studying Accounting while I crammed for my math exams, and then tailgating on the weekends cheering on the Crimson Tide. Today we can be found flying back and forth between Boston and Nashville trying to relive the college days.
Groomsman
Brett and I became good friends at the beginning of our Senior year as we bonded over Alabama Football, tailgating on the Quad, away game road trips, brother retreats and socials. However, our friendship really flourished after graduation, when I spent a week with his family in Florida. He later provided shelter to my family and I, when Hurricane Irma (2019) forced us to evacuate during our Labor Day summer vacation.
Officiant
Conner and Jacqui became friends while rushing ΑΚΨ as part of the same pledge class their Sophomore year of college. After becoming a brother, Conner and Connor began to bond as classmates in many business and accounting classes, completing homework at Bashinky Lab and grabbing Chick-fil-A breakfast before class at the Ferg. Following the beginning of their early “bromance” in the Fall of their Junior year, Connor and Conner would practically do everything together with Jacqui as a third wheel. Throughout the remainder of their collegiate career, Conner, Connor, and Jacqui experienced several road trips, brother retreats, and overnight “camp-outs” for away game football tickets including the CFP National Championship.
