For the past three New Year's Eves, and hopefully for many more to come, we've made our annual road trip to camp in Zion National park (in return for visiting Blaire's favorite National Park once per year, Jacob gets to go climbing in Yosemite 5-6 times). Bishop is our midpoint, our linkup between Yosemite and Zion, connecting the Sierras to the desert, and has been a treasured little refuge on the long drive. We love the bakeries, coffee shops, stark peaks, and small mountain town feel. Our usual overnight stay has been with Eastside Guesthouse and Bivy, which has beautiful grounds, a "Bivy Cat" named Lucy, an adorable common area, and is centrally located near the well-known Schat's Bakery and the bowling alley. Timing for Bishop is tricky though! Being respectful of our educator friends' schedules, our options were Spring Break (snow!), Memorial Day weekend (Mule Days!), and Summer Break (too hot!). Veteran's Day weekend was perfect, making our wedding 364 days since Jacob proposed!
Last year, Bishop was gorgeous this same weekend! Expect sunny days with a slight breeze and cold nights—bring a warm jacket. No judgment if you wear your Patagonia, North Face, or Costco fleece while dancing!
Due to numbers, we are keeping our wedding day child free with the exception of our Flower Girl & Ring Bearer. We will however happily accommodate breastfeeding babies.
We are requesting that all guests dress in semi-formal or cocktail dress attire. It will get cold at night so please bring a warm jacket. Please no jeans or t-shirts for the event.
Don't worry, we will be updating this site as more plans become concrete. We appreciate you reading this far!
