Maid of Honor
Sabrina Werby is my best friend in the whole wide world and is, simply put, the best human alive. I love her so much, and you can stop reading now because no one else matters. Also, Karly made me disclose that I, Sabrina, wrote this blurb and set up this website. All other bridesmaids' blurbs were written by Karly. :)

From biking along mountains in Utah to swimming under the sea in Cayman, Zacko and Jackson always enjoy each other’s company! Zacko currently works for United Airlines, a position that was crucial to sustaining Karly and Jackson’s long-distance relationship. Thanks for all those buddy passes, Zacko!
Bridesmaid
Katie is Karly's sister-in-law-to-be (Beth and Bob's daughter). Katie has a degree in psychology from Pitzer College, is currently getting a masters degree in marriage and family therapy, and plans to work with children. Katie is also an amazing painter (even though she’s sometimes shy about showing people her beautiful work). Because she is so easy to talk to, enormously welcoming, generous, and sweet, she always makes Karly feel like part of the family. Karly and Katie have been on many family adventures together including hiking in 100-degree weather in Auburn where they saved a dehydrated kid's life, playing a ferocious couples tennis match in Washington, DC, and kayaking in Lake Natoma. The two sister-friends have many more adventures to come!

In addition to always being able to literally rouse everyone into party mode, Michael is an incredibly caring, loyal friend. Nessa is Karly’s cousin (Sally’s oldest daughter). Nessa and Karly have lived minutes away from each other, played together everyday, and have been best friends for their entire lives. Having recently returned from a job in Mexico, Jacob now lives in Seattle and works in coffee production - that is not code for barista; he is actually a bean specialist.
Bridesmaid
Annie is Karly’s cousin (Steven and Claudia’s youngest). Annie is smart, funny, and destined for greatness. She and Karly share a love of sushi and doodles, although they disagree on the ideal size for a doodle. Annie believes that the smaller lap-dogs are best, and Karly firmly thinks that a bigger dog means more to cuddle. Annie graduated from the Cornell Hotel School and has recently moved back to Chicago.

They love doing everything together from playing Star Wars Battlefront One on an Xbox original, to staying up all night playing cribbage, to lamenting the political state of the country, and of course always eating too much chocolate. Rachel and Karly have been on many adventures, some of which involved crashing a half-broken tandem bicycle into various planters and curbs. Dr. Rachel Tatz is currently a resident in family medicine at Penn.
Groomsman
Logan and Jackson have been longtime best friends, having first met in the 5th grade. From late nights playing ping pong in Logan’s garage to riding off-road scooters through Ancil Hoffman Park’s trails, they have always been an adventurous pair. Logan currently works at HP and lives in Eugene, Oregon.
Mother of the Bride
Betsy is the mother of the bride! In addition to being her mother, Betsy is one of Karly’s best friends. They’re just enough alike to enjoy a lot of the same activities like crossword puzzles, baking, and doting on their doodles. They are just enough different not to drive each other crazy (usually). Betsy has always been a strong, positive female role model in Karly’s life. In addition to launching a new career as a realtor, she’s involved in charity work, in the community, and in her children’s lives. Betsy loves having a daughter, except for when all her cute shoes and LuLu pants go missing from her closet.
Mother of the Groom
Beth is mother of the groom! She and Jackson form quite the dynamic duo. She is the inspiration for Jack’s love of hiking and biking, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, and tea and hot chocolate. Beth passed on to Jack her ability to connect with people - but not her ability to remember their names - and he credits her with showing him how to build the wonderful network of friends he has today. Recently retired from her longtime reporting and editing job at the Sacramento Business Journal, Beth is looking forward to lots of hiking, gardening, and traveling, including many trips to Chicago.
Father of the Bride
David is the father of the bride! As a super involved father, he's coached every sport Karly has ever played. When Karly aspired to become a softball pitcher, she turned to him. Despite her "unique" athletic skills, and after spending hours and hours and hours in the front yard practicing, Coach Dave succeeded in turning her into a varsity pitcher. David’s other charity work, with the Foundation Fighting Blindness and low income communities, is an inspiration to Karly. David is a cofounder of Brinshore Development, where Karly hopes to secure an interview and pursue a career after graduation. Also, it should be noted, that Karly is David’s favorite child.
Father of the Groom
Bob is the father of the groom! Despite making Jack chop a winter’s worth of firewood whenever he comes home to visit, Bob and Jack share a close bond. He is the influence behind Jack’s enthusiasm for cooking and often has great suggestions on both recipes and techniques. He has always been a role model for Jack. The two love spending long days making sandcastles on the beach and late nights playing pool and ping pong. Bob and Karly share an unfortunate love of bad television. Bob is semi-retired from a career at Sierra Research and has joined Beth gardening in their backyard.
Grandmother of the Bride
Grandma Ronnie is the heart and soul of the Brint/Higginson/Schwartz family. Although we all love to tease her about her tendency to mix up her two daughters' names, regift US Open clocks, and bulk-order bright orange lipstick, the truth is, we wouldn't be the big, close-knit, loving family we are today without her. She has worked hard our whole lives to form a special connection with each of her grandchildren. She and Karly love to play Scrabble by the pool, take walks on the beach, and just hang out drinking their vodka on the rocks. She has taught Karly many things over the years, including to always drink liquor straight, to always sit with good posture, and when setting a table to put forks on the left. Most of all, the importance of family.
Grandfather of the Bride
Big Al likes three things in life: extremely well-done red meat, tennis, and his family. Although Karly is a vegetarian and her backhand needs some work (possibly a genetic trait), she and Big Al have lots in common. They are both mathematically inclined, enthusiastically career-oriented, deeply committed to family, and they both love to travel. At one point, Karly realized that he had been to every state in the U.S. except one. Guess which one? Utah! So, Karly took him on a surprise trip there for his birthday, just the two of them. They went white-water rafting, survived an absolutely terrifying off-roading adventure, and played lots and lots of card games. It was one of the most special trips ever and is yet another reason why Utah holds a particular place in Karly's heart.
Ring Bearers
Alex is Karly’s cousin (Steven and Claudia’s son). Karly and Alex have always been close because they share a love for creativity, pizza, and the fantasy genre. Alex currently works for Midtown Athletic Club as the head of marketing. Steven and Big Al are very happy to let him do all the heavy lifting! Sarah is Alex’s better half. She is an editor and the author of the book “Gigged.” Everybody reading this should immediately go on Amazon and purchase a copy! Sarah is the queen of one-liners. Ever since Alex and Sarah moved to Chicago, they have been some of Karly and Jackson’s closest couple friends. Their friendship is invaluable.
