Our Story

FREDERICKSBURG, VA We met at the beginning of October 2021, working at the Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in charming Fredericksburg, VA. Jackson took Evan on a coffee date at Curitiba Coffee House two weeks after we met, and after 4 hours of talking about everything from testimonies to food allergies to hopes and dreams, our suspicion that we had something special was confirmed. After only a month of knowing each other, Evan went back to NYC and we decided to try our hand at long distance. LONG DISTANCE Thus began an entire year (and some change) of quick weekend visits, FaceTime movie dates, and falling more in love every day. Six months of the year were spent in extreme long distance while Jackson was working abroad in Europe. We could chat for around 30 minutes a day, if that, depending on the connection and how much allotted wifi Jackson had left. It was a tough season for us, but we both agree that God used it to shape us in ways that have served us so well in our communication and understanding of one another. We also got a beautiful European vacation out of that situation, so it definitely wasn't all bad. After Jackson got back to the states, we spent the fall and winter of 2022 on separate theatre contracts, flying to see each other in person once or twice before the holidays. We savored every second we had together. NYC!! (kind of) When Evan returned to NYC in January, so did Jackson!! He moved in five blocks down from Evan's apartment and we spent one sweet month together with our lovely community in Hudson Heights before contracts took us away from each other once again. During this time we more seriously discussed engagement and went ring shopping on our one crossover day in the city between gigs. Talk about a whirlwind. ENGAGED IN CENTRAL PARK Shortly after Jackson returned from his national tour debut in My Fair Lady, he proposed at Chambers Boat Landing in Central Park. It was one of the sweetest days of our lives, and we felt so surrounded by all our lovely family and friends who came from all over to celebrate with us! We are so overwhelmed by the story the Lord has told through our relationship in light of the stories he'd been writing in our separate lives before we met. We serve a big God with perfect timing. WHAT'S NEXT? Speaking of perfect timing... A January wedding! Why, you ask, would we do such a thing? Well... over the holidays we only have a few weeks off of a very special project that we BOTH have been given the privilege to work on. We have lived in this constant bittersweetness of gratitude for being able to pursue our acting careers and the sorrow of constantly having to say goodbye - we are so humbled to have a season coming up where we know we won't have to part ways for a bit. More on that later :) THANK YOU! We are grateful to know you, and cherish all that you've given us by being a part of one or both of our lives. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being a part of our story. See you on Friday, January 5 at 4pm! We love you! Psalm 66:5 "Come and see what the Lord has done..."
