Siena

Siena

Siena, Tuscany 53100, Italy

Today's Siena is very much the same as it would have appeared back in 1300, and the preservation of its unique medieval architecture is one of the main reasons to visit such a magnificent city. You can still see the decorated iron rings everywhere on the house walls which were used to hold torches and to tie up horses. PIAZZA DEL CAMPO - one of the most beautiful squares in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the view from the balcony of the Bar "SAN PAOLO." TORRE DEL MANGIA - dominates the Piazza del Campo and is one of the most famous in Tuscany and at 102 meters the third tallest historic tower in Italy. SIENA CATHEDRAL - one of the most important and magnificent Romanesque-Gothic churches in Italy. PALAZZO SALIMBENI - oldest bank in the world and still in service. FORTEZZA MEDICEA - city fortress. PINACOTECA NAZIONALE - the most important collection of paintings from the Sienese school in the world, housed inside Palazzo Buonsignori and Palazzo Brigidi.
