The hotel Villa Beccaris is a 18th Century Villa where, for a period of time, General Fiorenzo Bava Beccaris called this home. Hence the name - Villa Beccaris. The General was born in Fossano on March 17th, 1831 from Piemontese Nobility. He took part in the Crimean war, as well as the 2nd and 3rd Independence Wars. He gained his relevance during the siege of Milan in 1898 when he suppressed the insurrection against taxes, bread, and flour price increases imposed by the Savoy Family. His Villa in Monforte d'Alba had been abandoned for a long time, when in 1996, a group of friends, art lovers, and owners of different local businesses decided to restore the Villa to its former majesty. This was finished in 1997 and is what we know today as the fabulous Villa Beccaris.
