The crown jewel of San Miguel, this church was originally built in the 1600s with a traditional Mexican façade. However, Zeferino Gutierrez added a neo-Gothic façade in 1880 inspired by European churches. With its pink sandstone, La Parroquia is one of the most famous churches in Mexico and a gorgeous landmark to help you get your barings.
Situated in the middle of the city and directly in front of La Parroquia de San Miguel Arcangel, El Jardin is the town square. Be sure to spend time here people watching, listening to wandering mariachis, eating an ice cream, and getting your bearings before exploring.
You MUST visit while in town. Huge, vibrant market with vendors as far as the eye can see! It really gives you a traditional Mexico feel and it's the perfect place to pick up little trinkets to take home.
Very cute and cool local pottery shop!
