Maid of Honor
Alexis was the first person that Jackie met at their medical school orientation at the University of Rochester. Lex felt Jackie was sufficiently normal and asked her if she was interested in living together. Their little house on Irvington Road went on to be the place where they studied, laughed, cried and became best friends over the next four years. Lex is a third year OB/GYN resident at the University of Rochester.
Bridesmaid
Melissa and Jackie met during their intern year at UVA. When UVA sent out the faces of those who matched months before they arrived, Jackie could tell from Melissa's raised eyebrow and cool girl glasses that they had potential to be great friends. She was right and Melissa helped to make Charlottesville Jackie's new home. Melissa is a hospitalist in Charlottesville and will be a Hematology/Oncology fellow in Philadelphia come June!
Bridesmaid
Jackie and Marcela met during their third year of college at Colgate University in the fall, just before heading to Wales together during a semester abroad that spring. Marcela is one of the most opinionated, strong-willed, resilient women that Jackie has ever known and that is a compliment. Marcela taught Jackie that there's a much bigger world out there than Oxford and Hamilton, NY. Marcela is a Medicine-Pediatrics resident at The Ohio State University and will be moving to Indianapolis, IN in June to start her Critical Care fellowship.
Bridesmaid
Erin and Jackie met their first semester at Colgate during their freshman seminar. They worked in the same lab and spent many hours watching 48 Hour Mysteries while pipetting and running Western blots. They graduated in 2010 and Erin joined Jackie and Lexi at the University of Rochester for medical school 2 years later when the three became housemates. Erin is a Medicine-Pediatrics resident at UNC.
Bridesmaid
Olivia (Liv) is Jackie's little sister. Jackie and Liv met unofficially when Jackie walked home in 8th grade and her mom, Claire, told her she was pregnant. Despite initially being upset at the idea of having to change diapers, Jackie eventually came around to the idea of Olivia. Liv has since gone on to prove her worth by being the most precocious, brilliant and hilarious 15-year-old in existence. Liv is a 10th grader at Oxford High School and would like to be a marine biologist.
Groomsman and Bridesman
For those of you that know Spence, you can probably imagine him making fun of this wedding website at this very moment. Connor has admired Spence for his ability to find humor in anything but his favorite thing about Spence is his unconditional love for family. Connor looks forward to becoming brothers and continuing to be a part of the special family bond in which Spence has made him feel most welcome. Spence is a Brooklyn-based artist. In Connor's opinion, Spence's work is more impressive than anything they viewed together at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. If you want to have a great time or discuss/see amazing art this wedding weekend, find Spence.
Best Man
Connor grew up admiring his big brother and eventual best man, Asher, observing how he excelled on the soccer field, basketball court, and track with such humility. Asher had continued success as he moved on to Princeton University and majored in molecular biology and eventually to medical school and residency, training to become a dermatologist. Connor remembers asking Asher many times through the different stages of his life if he could succeed as he did. Asher has always been quick to respond with words of reassurance and encouragement. He is the ultimate big brother. Asher continues to inspire Connor as he excels in everything he does, most important of which is as a husband to his wife Stephanie and a father to his three children - Peyton, Jackson, and Julian.
Groomsman and Officiant
Chase and Connor met on the first day of kindergarten and have been best friends ever since. Chase has been there for Connor through every stage of life. He married his wife, Leslie, in 2009 and the two live with their beautiful daughter, Charlotte (Lottie), in Grove City, Ohio where Chase works as a youth pastor. He also has a podcast out on iTunes which Connor and Jacqueline highly recommend. Connor admires almost every quality Chase possesses but does recommend against asking Chase for directions or any logistical details about the wedding weekend as he will likely unintentionally mislead you.
Groomsman
David and Connor's friendship got off to a rough start when David shoved Connor into a wall as Connor tried to finish a breakaway layup during basketball practice in the third grade. Fortunately they got to know each other better by having nearly every class together growing up in addition to participating in A Cappella choir and football together. Connor has always been amazed and inspired by Dave's perfect pitch and unmatched wit. Dave currently lives in Nashville, TN where he works for a company that aids individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through education and occupational rehabilitation.
Groomsman
Luke and Connor's friendship began as teammates on a travel soccer team in 1995 after Luke moved to WV from Chicago. Luke went onto become an all-state high school, collegiate, and semi-professional soccer player. He met his match in his wife, Liz, and the two live together in Washington, D.C., both working on Capitol Hill and working to make our nation and the world a better place.
Groomsman
Connor met Sunjay during their first year of medical school. Sunjay is the type of person that can and will befriend anyone at anytime. He is always willing to listen and discuss ideas, concerns, and hardship whenever needed. Somehow, Sunjay managed to find someone that is just as introspective and enjoyable to converse with in his wife, Kady. Kady and Sunjay's wedding was the most fun wedding Connor has ever been a part of as they sang and danced through the streets of Pittsburgh. They live together in Monroeville, PA where Sunjay practices Family Medicine.
Groomsman
Connor met Michael during their first year of medical school at WVU. Their first conversation had something to do with how many snaps each would take as the quarterback for their medical school intramural flag football team. They went on to become study partners and best friends. It is pretty easy to pick Michael out of a crowd - he's the one with the perma-grin. Connor and Michael overlapped in Morgantown for 4 years and Charlottesville for 2 more years. The duo later added a Charlottesville dodgeball championship to their list of athletic accomplishments. Michael and his wife, Katy, live together in Walnut Creek, CA where Michael works as an Emergency Medicine physician.
