The highs during this time of year are typically in the 80s. Peak heat is later in the day (around 5 PM) and the sun will set around 9 ish. The mornings and evenings are cool and you may need a light jacket or warm sweater. It typically doesn't rain much in the summer time but pack a rain coat just in case!
Ceremony & Reception: Semi-formal for an outdoor wedding. For example, dresses of any length, jumpsuits, etc. No blazer jackets needed- it will be hot! Everyone is encouraged to wear comfortable shoes since there is uneven terrain. Flat sandals are ideal, or bring extra comfy shoes to change into. Camp Cedar Ridge is approximately 54 miles west of Portland International Airport. The drive from Portland is around an hour but since it is a holiday weekend, there will likely be more traffic. Renting a car is the best way to get to and from the venue and you can rent a car at the airport. Ubers/Lyfts are not likely to drive from Portland Airport to Camp Cedar Ridge. If you need a ride to & from the venue, please reach out to us and we will connect you with someone who has room in their car!
It is thanks to golf carts! There is some uneven terrain/mulch around the ceremony and reception area. The camp area is large and there is a big hill to get from the house/lodge area down to the dining hall, pods, ceremony and reception. The Camp Cedar Ridge staff can operate a golf cart for anyone who has mobility & accessibility needs. There are some ADA accessible rooms in the lodge as well. Please let us know in advance if you have accessibility needs so we can plan accordingly!
While we would love for you to come, we know that this is a pretty big trip for a lot of you! We are also going to be having an east coast celebration the week of July 25-26th. If you can't make it all the way out to the west coast, we'll look forward to celebrating with you later in the month!
First, ask us! With advanced notice, we might be able to borrow a bike from someone for you. We will also give you lots of info about good biking streets, bike maps, etc. PORTLAND biking: If you'd like to rent a bike during your stay in Portland: 1) BIKETOWN Portland- This is bikeshare (like CitiBikes, etc). It gets a little pricey for longer rides, but if you just want to ride around a bit, its an easy bet. WEBSITE: https://biketownpdx.com/ 2) EVERYBODY'S BIKE RENTALS- They're in Northeast Portland. We have used them before with visitors, they have good options. You'll need to contact them in advance to reserve. WEBSITE: https://www.pdxbikerentals.com/ 3) KERR BIKES- this spot is downtown. It's a little shack rather than a shop. If option #2 isn't feasible this is another option. WEBSITE: https://www.albertinakerr.org/support-our-work/kerr-bikes/ BANKS-VERNONIA TRAIL BIKING (During the wedding weekend) If you're staying at Camp Cedar Ridge during our wedding weekend and want to check out the Banks-Vernonia Trail: 1) Bring your bike to the camp. Drive about 5-7 min from the camp to access part of the trail. 2) Banks Bikes is a 25 minute drive from the venue, and right by the south end of the trail. You can rent a bike of theirs for a few hours. Could be a fun option for the Friday or Sunday before/after the wedding. As we get closer to the wedding date, we will confirm whether they are open on a holiday weekend. WEBSITE: https://www.banksbikes.com/
The ceremony will either be at 4 or 4:30 PM. We will be confirming the ceremony time shortly so stay tuned!
Yes! You can still join for meals and activities! You can mark attending for Friday’s dinner on the RSVP. If you want lunch Saturday just contact Jackie and Ben and we will add it. Same for Sunday brunch, but note that it is early (9 or 9:30 am) so if you are staying off-site you may have to wake up early to be there! Each dining hall meal is around $15- we reserved it with the camp so we will share our Venmo at a later date. Reminder- if you’re staying on-site the lodging comes with dining hall meals already. It’s already bundled into the price.
Contact Jackie or Ben. For day of emergencies contact our wedding coordinator Ashlie Carfine
We already reserved a bunch of lodging and meals directly in the camp, so you can go through us! Please fill out the lodging survey as soon as possible but no later than the RSVP deadline (May 1st).
