We recommend grouping together and renting a house, please talk to Amelia or Jack to see who else is attending. Sunriver offers free shuttles as an amenity around the resort, but biking is also possible. Flight
*Recommended Route* Redmond/Bend Airport is the closest airport to Sunriver Resort, approximately 45 minute drive away. We recommend flying into this airport, however be advised that this small airport is oftentimes subject to delays, especially during winter months or when there is off season winter events. As this is such a small airport, direct flights are uncommon and a layover is likely necessary. Most direct flights only have service to San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, or Phoenix. You can either order a shuttle to take you directly to Sunriver Resort which has a free transportation service around the resort for guests, or if you'd like to explore Central Oregon a bit more you can rent a car at the airport.

Alternatively, if you'd like to fly a bit less and have a beautiful drive through the Cascade Mountains, you could fly into Portland International Airport (PDX) and rent a car. The drive from PDX to Sunriver is approximately 3.5 hours, taking you briefly along the Columbia River Gorge, over the Cascade Mountains underneath Mount Hood, and down US-97 with an amazing view of the Cascade Range. For this route take US-26 E to Madras, and then US-97 S through Bend and down to Sunriver Resort. If you're taking this route, please let us know and we can tell you the conditions of the mountain passes. If there is an unseasonably late blizzard, we would highly recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

This route would possibly include a layover, renting a car, and choosing between two amazing route through the mountains. A.) Southern route along OR-58 E: Beautiful drive going near several lakes and creeks. Note: Google Maps will have you turn off OR-58 through a National Forest Road but we'd recommend following OR-58 E all the way to US-97 N. B.) Northern route along the McKenzie River: Amazing drive Amelia and Jack did dozens of times while house hunting. Takes you along the McKenzie River over the Santiam Pass to US-97 S to Sunriver. Along this route you'll see Black Butte, where Jack proposed to Amelia, and go through the cute mountain town of Sisters, Oregon. For Aviation Nerds: this route might be more interesting. Eugene's Airport (Mahlon Sweet Field) has a rich history for early aviation.
