FAQs

Question

When is the wedding?

Answer

July 25, 2026

Question

Where is the wedding?

Answer

IslandWood, 4450 Blakely Ave NE, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Guests are highly encouraged to stay with us at IslandWood! Your stay at IslandWood includes all meals, access to the entire campus, and is the venue for all the weekend activities. There are also several other hotels on Bainbridge Island, and even more in Seattle. The ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge can be especially busy during summer weekends, so please plan ahead if you prefer to stay off the island!

Question

I have a food allergy or restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please note any allergy or dietary restrictions when filling out IslandWood's lodging registration form on EventBrite. For guests staying elsewhere, please fill out the separate IslandWood guest registration form. Both forms can be found on the Lodging page.

Question

Can I request a particular room for my stay at IslandWood?

Answer

Adelia and Jack will assign rooms after the reservation window has closed. If you would like rooms near specific friends/family or have any other needs, please note them in the Special Requests section of the EventBrite registration form.

Question

Can I arrive at IslandWood early?

Answer

Please wait until guest check-in at 5pm to arrive, as IslandWood will be running an educational weekday program prior to our event. However, your luggage can arrive early! Our IslandWood-ferry shuttle will start running at 3:30pm on Friday, for luggage only, so you can send your bags off and explore Bainbridge unencumbered. Bags can be picked up at the Welcome Center during check-in.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

Nope! Between Seattle public transit, the beautiful ferry ride to the island, onsite lodging, and our scheduled shuttles, guests don't need to rent a car. However, there is ample parking at the venue if you choose to drive.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes! We think they'd have fun at IslandWood too and have specifically included your kid(s) in your invitation. If we've missed someone, please let us know ASAP so we can make sure we can accommodate them. We are still exploring on-site childcare options and entertainment for the ceremony and/or reception-- details to follow.

Question

Are pets welcome?

Answer

IslandWood is a certified wildlife protected zone, so only certified Service Animals are permitted. The only exception to this rule is our dog Cortana ("Tuna"), who may make a short guest appearance during the ceremony.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please check your invitation for information about plus ones. If we've missed someone on the invitation, please let us know ASAP so we can make sure we can accommodate them.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Most of the weekend is very casual: dress for bonfire s'mores, painting, hiking, and hanging out in the pacific northwest outdoors! The wedding itself is a semi-formal/cockatil dress code: cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, slacks, button-ups. Tie-optional. There will be some unpaved terrain, so stilettos beware.

Question

What will the weather be?

Answer

July in the Pacific Northwest is typically sunny and clear, with average temperatures ranging from a high of 75F a low of 60F. Our venue will have some sunny clearings but is mostly in shaded forest. Our ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting).

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes!!! We'd love to see you for as much of the weekend as you can spare, and we'll be at IslandWood from Friday evening to Sunday morning. Check out our Schedule page for more information.

Question

Can I bring my own food or drinks?

Answer

For insurance and liability reasons, absolutely no outside alcohol is permitted at IslandWood. Outside food is not permitted, excepting baby food or specific dietary needs.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

We have no expectation of gifts; the time, money, and energy you put into joining us for our wedding is more than enough! If you're determined to give more, we appreciate your thoughtfulness and would be delighted if you donated to the Canine Cancer Alliance, an organization whose mission to end dog cancer is very near and dear to our hearts.
