How It All Began

5.13.16

Will and I first met in college at Bentley - it was his grad school year and my senior year. I had studied abroad the prior semester and while I was gone my friends became friends with Will and his friends and they all really hit it off. So when I came back to school for my senior year, Will and I were suddenly at all the same places. After spending a very fun last semester of college together, we officially decided to date the week before we both graduated while we were on the bus headed to my Senior Ball.

7 Years Together

We knew that post college I would be moving to CT and Will would be staying in Boston. It just so happened that Will’s family was from CT, so while I lived there it was the perfect opportunity for me to really get to know them and learn just how great the Patton family is (they even let me move in with them for 3 months)! We spent two years only seeing each other on weekends until I was finally able to make the move to Boston. I lived with roommates for a year and we finally decided to move in together my second year in Boston, in fall 2019, thankfully right before COVID hit. We lived in that home together for two years where we loved being close to the bars and the beach in Southie, and that was where we decided to make the first addition to our family - Breck! Will has known it has always been my dream to move back to Colorado and enjoy the state I grew up in as an adult. In 2021, I finally convinced him to go on that adventure with me and we moved to Denver to enjoy the winter ski seasons, summer hiking trails, and all the great breweries around to explore!

The Proposal

2.11.22

We spent the first Thanksgiving after moving to CO with Will’s family in CT and that was where the plot to propose began. He convinced his family to plan a ski trip in Vail the upcoming February and got them all on board in record time. When February came around, on our last night in Vail, we were all planning for a nice dinner in town and Will asked me if we could go in earlier than his family to grab a drink before dinner. I never pass up a pre-dinner drink so said sure! Little did I know, his twin brother was camped out waiting for us, and as Will popped the question in front of the Vail bridge, Dan was able to capture the entire moment. After many missed phone calls to my mom and Will almost getting in a lot of trouble for not including my mom in the engagement, my Mom and James finally popped out to surprise me as they had driven up to the mountains to celebrate with us. We spent the rest of the night enjoying a fantastic meal together and then had our families back at the house in Vail together to enjoy some celebratory drinks and break the news to Breck that his parents are getting married!!!
