Updates

COVID-19

Alaska's phase info-- https://covid19.alaska.gov/reopen/ UPDATE!! FINAL WEEK 6/15/2020 IT LOOKS GOOD!! Our count for the wedding ceremony is right at the peak for families so we should be able to fit everyone in the church and our worst case is some my have to be in the foyer of the church, we are not turning anyone away. The address for the reception is on the FAQ'S page and will be also printed and handed out with the ceremony program. We will add the Thursday events "no-host brews" to the FAQ'S as well. Any questions just message us on Facebook, text, or you can call us. Update!! 06/01/2020 The reception has been moved from the senior activity center to a private home and lawn. Updated 05/27/2020 The church is allowing 70 families to attend the ceremony. So if we can't accommodate everyone at the ceremony, we hope to see you at the reception! This will continue to change for the better as we get closer to the date, hopefully. We will not have restrictions for the reception - being it's a private event. You can wear a mask if you want to but it's not required and we ask if you are sick to please stay home.

How We Met

Worth The Wait

Steven and Jess were introduced in 2011. In 2014 they became friends and started hanging out quite a bit. Before long the two could always be found hanging out or chatting on the phone. Their first real adventure was April 2015. Steve invited Jess to tag along with his best friends to the middle of a snowy wasteland located up north in Paxson for the famous winter event called Arctic Man. For one week a temporary RV & tent city with the population of about 13,000 people pops up and people ride snowmachines, drink around a fire and watch the races. For quite some time the two were teased by family & friends and the rumor was they were "more than just friends"... though they both stood firm on being only that. As time progressed the two eventually admitted their feelings for each other & embarked in a relationship.

The Big Question

Oct. 3rd, 2018

Steven scheduled a weekend trip in Anchorage and wouldn't tell me what we were doing other than we were taking fall photos (something we do every year) and he scheduled me a hair appointment at 9 AM. After the hair appointment, we started our trek to Girdwood for photos. Steve took a couple of left hand turns down some back roads and two rights. As he was driving us back through the hippy town of Girdwood the scenery around us looked depressing and the buildings wore out and weathered. Finally, we got to the destination he had planned and it was the Alpine Air Helicopter Tours!! My chest tightened up as I sat in the truck getting ready to walk inside. For a split second I thought he might propose and I quickly texted Kristen Agosti before walking inside to join Steven. After a short safety briefing we loaded up and off we went. Cruising through this stunning terrain, spotting black bears, moose and dozens of sheep grazing at high elevation. The gusts of wind were pretty strong as we worked our way through numerous valleys. Often times kicking the little R44 chopper to the side and to the inexperienced rider (me) making the propellers shutter and sound as though we would crash. We passed by some pretty neat glaciers, but none of them quite like Colony Glacier which feeds into Inner Lake George. Our pilot, Thomas, landed us on Colony Glacier for some photos. We walked over towards Inner Lake George per the recommendation of Thomas for a "good spot" to get a photo. As I gazed out over the lake I thought Steve was next to me doing the same, boy was I wrong. I turned around to find Steve down on one knee looking up at me with a ring in his hand. Of course, I said YES!! It's worth noting that Steven had to go with a plan b with the photographer. He had actually hired someone to act as another passenger to capture the moment but they ended up calling in sick. Though I'm sure it was disappointing, Steven didn't let this damper his mood or impede the proposal.
