Early in our relationship, we discovered that we both obsessed over creating Google Maps lists of places to eat and explore in every city we visit—and Bangkok is no exception! Once our relationship became more serious, we decided to merge our lists. This was a HUGE step for both of us (it felt like marriage). Now, you get to benefit from it! 📍 Listen to Live Jazz!
I may sound biased, but Bangkok has one of the most vibrant jazz scenes and some of the most incredible jazz musicians in the world! After performing in many countries across Asia, I still come back to Bangkok feeling grateful to be part of this wonderful community. Our universities host some of Asia's best jazz programs, and these faculty members and students perform nightly throughout the city! Here's a list of my favorite places to perform and hear live jazz—check them out! PS. This list includes some more generic live music venues as well.

Time Out's latest list of the world's 30 coolest streets for 2024 is out—and Bangkok's Ban That Thong made the list at an impressive no.14! Ban That Thong is renowned for its incredible street food, offering a diverse mix of traditional Thai, contemporary Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and innovative fusion dishes. Jeff and Tasha's favorite spots include: Lek Yai Traditional Tom Yum Noodles, Ann Guay Tiew Kua Gai (แอน ก๋วยเตี๋ยวคั่วไก่), Here Duan (เฮียด่วน), Heng Hoi Tod (เฮงหอยทอดชาวเล), and many more!

You know a live music venue is legit when it's owned and run by a musician — Groovin' High is no exception! This new-kid-on-the-block jazz club has one of the highest quality sound systems and best listening experiences in town, and it's always a joy to perform there! It's owned by my good friend and jazz bassist, Korn Tayakorn Tangkathanawat. They're conveniently located literally steps from BTS Saladaeng. Wonderfruit 2025
Wonderfruit is an annual five-day music festival held in Pattaya, a two-hour drive from Bangkok. Established in 2014, it has grown into one of Asia’s most distinctive cultural gatherings, drawing tens of thousands of attendees from around the world each December! The festival takes place the weekend before our wedding, so with some planning ahead, you can conveniently go to both! Fun Fact: Wonderfruit 2023 is the first music festival we ever “attended” together (that I wasn’t singing!)
